Sir_James 22 dec 2024 om 11:35
Ok

Mainly mil vehicles

Is this to be used for commercial vehicles or mainly for naval/millitary operations?

surprisingly it works without an issue

I believe so... I forgot how I coded this lol

does it work with a 2x2 Monitor?

This is just used to see the data, and also as a terminal to connect the stream of data to pull from to transmit. Add me on discord @thatcoolcat1 and I can explain a bit more how this fits into a full system
Mac and Cheese 13 jun 2024 om 13:26
or is this not used for putting into the vehicles and just to see the data?
Mac and Cheese 13 jun 2024 om 13:19
so quick question how do i add the radar to this cause my brain is a lil to smooth
Darkness 10 jun 2024 om 19:14
is there a way to get target data out of it? like from other systems with the datalink
thatcoolcat1  [auteur] 1 dec 2023 om 16:50
The radar input is for XYZ format signal, and the system only has 2 second memory

After detecting an enemy vehicle through radar but than losing the target (e.g with a fixed forward facing radar) will the datalink remember that in any way or do you have to maintain lock for the datalink to know its there?
thatcoolcat1  [auteur] 29 sep 2023 om 18:30
its not designed for that. you need a live data stream to do that, and for that i would reccomend a fighter to fighter network, not an information network like this.
Mrmunchyolly 29 sep 2023 om 18:29
Would this be able to send information to a missile?
Or has it not been made for it?

IFF allows you to know where friendly units are located, and in custom implementations with radars, can allow you to be instructed to not shoot at a friendly target.

Datalink allows you to know where detected enemy units are at, so that you may have a better understanding of enemy positions, and allow you to vector onto a target in order to help others.

Both parts combine to give greater battlespace situational awareness which leads to greater survivability and lethality.

I don't really understand what a datalink does and how to use it (I have read the description)

whichever terminal is closer to the receiver will have priority. with 120 slots, the chance of two users being on the same channel is very low, and i have not encountered it in testing
zappafish 25 sep 2023 om 17:43
What if two terminals join the same slot?
UIU_Trooper 25 sep 2023 om 7:43
that my favit
thatcoolcat1  [auteur] 25 sep 2023 om 6:43
not sure how effective this will be in space as the devs have said gps wont work, and instead you will have to use some sort of space positional sensor

This is sick!! I found it on the Stormworks discord "vehicle showcase" channel. I will put it on my SpaceX Starship Vehicle most probably as it's going to go far away on the moon when the new update comes out.
