@ChuckleberryFinn: This mod seem to be conflict with Killcount (I don't know why & how).

- Load order: Killcount higher (above), this mod lower (below).
- No error or anything comes up.
- Broke/glitch the character info panel (only show half of the panel).

This is probably a question you've fielded a hundred times, but are there any plans to port this over to Build 42 when a stable version is released? Thanks

Yesterday, I tested the calorie burn rates with your mod active, all sandbox settings set to 1.0.

Burn rate per 10m in-game or 25s real-time on vanilla day length (1h). In-game time is used for calculation. Measurments might not be perfect:

Sitting 6kcal
Standing 10kcal
Walking 48 kcal
Jogging 80 kcal
Sprinting 104 kcal
(5/5 chars can't sprint that long, Tested in debug with unlimited stamina, otherwise jogging starts at mild exhaustion.)
Action Time ? I transferred items from a cupboard which was same burn rate as standing: 10kcal. So I guess it's crafting related, which I haven't tested.

Calculating burn rate modifier for inventory weight:

EncumbranceModifier = 1+(InventoryWeight/MaxWeight)*0.1

-Not encumbered: +0-10% cal burn rate

-Heavy Load / encumbrance 1 (+10-12,5%)
Walking 54kcal
Jogging 90kcal

-Heavy Load 2 (+12,5-15%)
Walking 55kcal
Jogging 92kcal

-Heavy Load 3 (+15-17,5%)
Walking 56kcal
Jogging 94kcal

-Heavy Load 4 (starting at 17,5%)
Walking 56 kcal

Thank you for the data, I'll add a little image of it to the description when I have time.
HUNTAROH! 17. dec. 2024 kl. 17:28
Ok, then you described perfectly well, what it does and I misunderstood^^ I started a new run and was surprised of how low on calories I was after just a few hours. So, I assumed you changed the values for higher burn rates, which would need much more food per day.
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 16. dec. 2024 kl. 18:09
The burn rate is equal to that of vanilla.

The differences would be carrying items burns more per item, and sitting down will burn less than standing.
HUNTAROH! 16. dec. 2024 kl. 15:58
For sb. who doesn't know your mod, being able to read in the description how much you tweaked the burn rates compared to vanilla would give an idea, what to expect and help understand, how to finetune the values.
HUNTAROH! 16. dec. 2024 kl. 15:53
You say, there are sandbox options, if the base rates are not to our liking. What are the base rates? Do all activities cost more energy? How low can I go until I reach the vanilla rates?
I would like the mod infinitely more, if it would say in the description or ingame tooltip, how much calories are burnt and what value the multipliers actualy multiply. That saves us so much time and testing.
I would like to lower the burn rate, since it feels too high for me, and I would also like to know the exact values.
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 25. nov. 2024 kl. 9:54
Thank you for the kinds words, and extra perspective.

I don't think these people actually care, if they did they'd not make crazy statements.
DreadLordNaf 25. nov. 2024 kl. 5:10
I don't know what all this mod copyright argument is about but for what it's worth I copied Chucklberry's code from his mod here for my own mod (with his permission) and he was even nice enough to answer some DMs from me explaining what various lines did so I could modify it more to what I was trying to achieve.  I didnt find him unreasonable when asking his permission. I just link back to his mod here from mine and if anyone doesnt like the dislclaimer he puts on his mods for modpack etc, you can just ignore if you want. Not sure what you trying to gain from arguing here.
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 21. nov. 2024 kl. 8:33
Valve does not "own" my content. Valve and content-creators enter into a pretty standard cover-their-ass agreement. One they are legally obligated to adhere to. When other people reupload works they are still subject to infringement rules.

Maybe you don't agree with this assessment of their agreement - Ok, why does Valve have an entire DMCA system that specifically asks for the copyright holder to file - and I am able to take down workshop stuff being re-uploaded by rude people? (And by rude I mean, when I try to contact them they turn off comments or tell me to fuck off.)
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 21. nov. 2024 kl. 8:28
While you sort of arrived at the correct conclusion, you are also mistaken.

https://steamproxy.com/steamstore/subscriber_agreement/#6

"When you upload your content to Steam to make it available to other users and/or to Valve, you grant Valve and its affiliates the worldwide, non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, transmit, transcode, translate, broadcast, and otherwise communicate, and publicly display and publicly perform, your User Generated Content, and derivative works of your User Generated Content, for the purpose of the operation, distribution, incorporation as part of and promotion of the Steam service, Steam games or other Steam offerings, including Subscriptions."
Piment 21. nov. 2024 kl. 6:10
Any files uploaded as into Steam as workshop assets become a property of Valve and they own the copyright, not the mod creator himself. It's weird that people don't seem to be aware of this and modders continue to push their copyright texts into mod descriptions.

And not only that, but given that there is no transaction/exchange of money involved, people who try to use this mod for their own projects can't be legally prosecuted as long as they don't try to capitalize on the content. But then again, the entity that would have the power to prosecute would be Valve and not the original mod creator himself.

Regardless, mod copyrighting, despite of not having an actual legal basis, is sort of an honor system across the workshop. Just don't copy shit if the original creator doesn't want it copied. It's theirs and not yours anyway. Don't be a dick.
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 28. okt. 2024 kl. 10:42
Anyway, @shaftnotfound, @adictosalfichin - No incompatibilities that I know of.

This mod adjusts the burn rate by adding/subtracting calories as they're burned.
Joey Bologna 27. okt. 2024 kl. 13:01
"wants the government to control every facet of their life" bro what the fuck are you talking about, are you having a stroke?
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 26. okt. 2024 kl. 15:56
You appear to still be confused. I'm not telling anyone to not use my mod. That would be pretty silly.
KvKommander 26. okt. 2024 kl. 11:26
Like the fact that you think you need to tell people read the description before commenting. Like, do I not understand what your mod does? Of course, and if I didnt read your tiny description, who cares because what could I possibly say besides some basic question. But guess what? You are the one who JUST MOCKED ME in your description for continuing to read that block of text in that image. Hypocrite much?
KvKommander 26. okt. 2024 kl. 11:24
Like a person who wants the government to control every facet of their life. Thats what you seem like to me, trying "save people" from mod conflicts. Its lame
KvKommander 26. okt. 2024 kl. 11:23
I think you care too much about what you made here and the fact you don't want this in a modpack shows how much I am right. Im not confused, you are just annoying and petty. If you were merely concerned with conflicts between mods, you wouldn't tell everyone they cant use your mod. Instead, you feign concern, as if conflicts in modpacks are such a terrible thing that NOBODY can now use your mod. Ok then. Its your choice, I just dont respect it. I think you come off as a weak, insecure liar.
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 25. okt. 2024 kl. 13:40
Hi thanks for your concern, it appears you're very confused.

The way copyright works is anything you create is (almost usually) copyrighted to oneself. Thus regardless if the message is there or not, republishing/redistributing stuff is generally against copyright laws and can have consequences. The copyright message is there to help people be more aware of that situation.

In fact, this is the template Steam suggests to use: “Copyright 201X [Owner’s Name.] This item is not authorized for posting on Steam, except under the Steam account named ______”.

The 'No Modpacking' message in the description explains my position on that topic. I suggest you read it to the end.
KvKommander 25. okt. 2024 kl. 11:15
Copyright infringement? Are you making money off of this free mod? No, but you dont like others using this in a mod pack. Guess what buddy? I made a mod pack by downloading a bunch of mods to play on single player. Tell me, are you mad? Gonna cry that Im infringing on your copyright? Who cares if someone had the idea to use your mod in a modpack. You make me slightly sick annoying. I dont like you personally because you are selfish, close minded and ignorant.
Fichin 10. okt. 2024 kl. 22:35
Hi!, great mod, Incompatibilities with Dynamic Traits?, thanks.
shaftnotfound 17. sep. 2024 kl. 3:09
Incompatibilities?
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 31. aug. 2024 kl. 19:05
It just tweaks the calorie burning rate.
Dré 31. aug. 2024 kl. 18:00
Hey Chuck, does this mod actually affect weight loss or just the the speed that you can get to the maximum calorie deficit?
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 29. aug. 2024 kl. 4:00
The only change was disabling a debug message. Change notes found at the top right.
Sky Wise Guy 29. aug. 2024 kl. 1:26
Did the August 26 update change anything in the mod? The character began to lose weight faster. If so, tell me what parameters need to be set in the settings so that the weight changes as before. (the walking multiplier is already set to 0.33)
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 23. juli 2024 kl. 21:11
I'd have to go back in the comments, it setting the sandbox options in this mod to a certain value would get the same results.
Kras 23. juli 2024 kl. 19:28
Apparently there is a new bug with the 41.78 update. Walking will burn 110% of the calories as running the same distance.

Do you think we should also run this mod at the same time or it will create compatibility issues?

UncleFMG 28. juni 2024 kl. 16:10
I love this mod because I am an incurable looter who frequently carries maximum load possible, so it is only right/realistic to get some calorie-burning benefit from all that hard work.
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 24. apr. 2024 kl. 21:50
Ill have to check in case I messed up too.
Ratbag 24. apr. 2024 kl. 21:36
So it's exclusive to debug mode then... In that case I should check out my modlist to see if something is making it act up.
Sorry about bothering you, didn't know it wasn't supposed to be like it is for my game.
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 24. apr. 2024 kl. 20:55
The logging should only be happening in debug mode. That being said, no it's not necessary.
Ratbag 24. apr. 2024 kl. 20:15
Aside from that nice mod, quite useful considering the player should be able to adjust the calorie consumptions of their characters when playing, which oddly enough is not possible to do on a vanilla game out of all of the options on it.
Ratbag 24. apr. 2024 kl. 20:10
Question, is the mod supposed to flood the console log with the player's calorie spending every time they do something? I noticed that it does in my case and I got to say, I highly doubt this is necessary for most players considering none of them are debugging this mod every time they play.

Not to mention that the whole thing must be really laggy when accounting for the log rate of it, perhaps you could add some extra Sandbox settings that allows the player to choose what they want to have on their logs, as in a <Nothing-Errors-Everything> basis, alongside the logging rate so that it doesn't kill your fps every time they try walking when actually debugging I-G.
Lekelokobs 5. apr. 2024 kl. 19:40
I got the mod installed and on the server and it doesn't appear on the configuration list
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 5. apr. 2024 kl. 19:38
Yes. :)
Lekelokobs 5. apr. 2024 kl. 16:12
Does it work on MP @Chuckleberry Finn?
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 30. mar. 2024 kl. 6:47
Yes.
ryangoslinglover306 30. mar. 2024 kl. 6:37
is this safe to add and remove mid save
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 9. mar. 2024 kl. 4:54
The above linked github can take you to the source code for this mod.

https://github.com/Chuckleberry-Finn/RebalancedCalorieBurning/blob/main/Contents/mods/RebalancedCalorieBurning/media/lua/client/Rebalanced%20Calorie%20Burning%20-%20client.lua

There are sandbox options for all the modifiers if the base rates are not to your liking.
jaramass 9. mar. 2024 kl. 2:27
Is there somewhere that explains in more detail how this mod affects encumberance. how does encumberance from items in backpacks effect calorie burning? same as without encumberance reduction?
Reigdaer 18. feb. 2024 kl. 18:20
because i have a bottle with water on my inventory and every time my char drinks a bit, the calories count goes up like 200-250 points and im not eating or using any other Auto-eat/drink mod or something
Chuckleberry Finn  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2024 kl. 16:56
How do you know water has calories?
Reigdaer 18. feb. 2024 kl. 16:41
i cant explain it neither, im not using mods that adds or replace any item, only add recipes for wild survival...maybe a conflict with better sorting? and the water bottles are seen as soda or something...
