somewhere in the middle east ~20 years after the black mesa incident the rebels of city 43 rebelled in response to the city 17 uprising, in response the combine attempted to terminate all civilians and rebels, and after a high speed chase by combine apc's that ended in a bad crash that you were the only survivor of,you pick up a a not living combine soldiers weapon , prepare for the combine soldiers that will be eventually coming to investigate the crash, and head for the roads out of the city
