@july You have an addon conflict then. I just retested this in the current gmod release with css_arctic and everything works correctly. You must track down whatever addon you are subbed to which is breaking the animations on the stock playemodels. The prime suspects will be the various "custom animation framework" addons.

i was using the default css_arctic playermodel when i was using the swep ingame

@july The custom animation in this addon only works ValveBipeds that have the suitcase walk animation. Possible reasons why it's broken for you: A) your playermodel doesn't have this animation, B) the creator of your playermodel put the wrong animation (idle/tpose/etc) in the suitcase walk slot instead of the actual suitcase walk animation, C) a recent gmod update maybe broke my playermodel checking code by pretending missing animations actually exist. Can you please share the link to the playermodel you are using?

my playermodel is just standing meanwhile the gun is doing what its supposed to do

this mod remind me of the bug where Sniper ate his gun and then awakend his final form which caused the entire server crashed by his awakening aura too strong

@ballistic_beanie Addon conflict. Or you are using an esoteric/bad playermodel with wonky/bad hitboxes. Disable all other addons, use kleiner on flatgrass, and slowly retest until you find which addon is breaking things.

@Spirty There's no built-in option for setting a custom weapon worldmodel, if that's what you're asking. But like with any addon, you can always hack your way in and change the model that way. Extract this addon, decompile the worldmodel, and inspect its skeleton. You will need to replicate that skeleton in your replacement model if you want the animation to actually work.

@Stoodle Here's a possible theory which explains your observations: You have some other addon installed which 1) knows when the local player is looking through a camera but 2) is stupid and ignorant of the 99 other forms of third person views and 3) is doing bone manipulation on the player when it incorrectly thinks third person mode is not enabled. At any rate, the issue is an addon conflict and you will have to find the offending addon and remove it.

well when i uee the swep it goes to thirdperson but all that can be seen are my hands and legs warping, but using the camera tool it looks fine

@DeSunc I had an addon that basically used visemes of playermodel blendshapes for mouth movement that broke the animations for playermodels that used it. Unsubscribing from that addon fixed it. Idk if that was your case was here tho

It probably was, I disabled most of my addons and it works now.

@DeSunc The odds are 9999999 to 1 that you have some other addon installed which is interfering with player animations. Disable every single addon except this one, then try again on gm_flatgrass. If it works, you will have to figure out which conflicting addon is causing the problem. PAC3 and other similar addons should be the first place to look, since they will fight with this addon over the one single way to do reliable custom animations in gmod. Unfortunately, this is a gmod limitation and is largely unavoidable.
