*SISU INTENSIFIES*

Wait. That's not quite accurate is it.
carlrobert 2. juli 2020 kl. 3:57
Well this is quite overpowering with the herding, I must say. I myself use the more advanced "advanced" setup to get the start bias right.
Capitan Langustino Elepha Moñio 1. juni 2020 kl. 13:35
Don't know if it is ever going to recieve another update but a start bias would be very pleasant
chernobyldenier 2. sep. 2018 kl. 19:24
IDK if you'll see this or update this, but is there a start bias for this civ? I've started like 4 or 5 times now and have not been placed in or near tundra. Im on a huge earth map with 11 other civs, 1 of which has a tundra start bias.
SerNiX 6. okt. 2017 kl. 5:45
Can I copy it, and do in polish?
lobster 2. jan. 2017 kl. 12:28

PiGreat 6. juli 2016 kl. 8:53
Love the mod, but for some reason I don't gain happiness from Luxuries when I play as them. Any idea what could be causing this? I assume it's some kind of mod conflict.
Zetsuji 3. juli 2016 kl. 18:52
Crashes very often.
marnah 10. maj 2016 kl. 11:57
I love this civ!! But, it keeps crashing very early in the game... *weeps*
JM 25. feb. 2016 kl. 14:06
I'm Sámi and I love this. Been looking for something like this and was actually considering trying to make my own if I didn't find one already.
TigerWave01 8. feb. 2016 kl. 8:47
If you play these people on the Antarctica map, you'll completely dominate.
Anon_2 16. jan. 2016 kl. 3:55
Been playing v. 2. Thanks for the update. This version still crashes but much less. If it will help you debug, my setup is: Windows 7, AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core, 3.60 GHz, 8 GB installed RAM, 64-bit, DirectX 11. Installed mods are this one, Events and Decisions, and Historical Religions Complete v. 30. Most crashes happen at the end of a turn, often while processing the turn for the Barbarians. I hope this helps. Thanks for creating a fantastic mod.

@TheLionGamer By being able to type in Finnekonge in google, and clicking on a link, I managed to find this "Norse sources from the 12th century and onwards, such as Heimskringla and Volundarkvida, talk about finnekonger ("Sámi kings"), which in contemporary history writing are interpreted as particularly wealthy Sámi, who were perhaps also chieftains. Archeological findings do indeed confirm that a certain degree of class society arose among the Sámi, due to the fur trade, in the early Middle Ages. Little is known about the formal status of the "finnekonger", however. The name is in any case misleading, as nobility has never been a part of Sámi culture." in about 30 seconds.

Also, Finnmark is a county in Norway - Finnekonge ---> Finnmark. Not neccesarily Finland, now is it ;)
Niconicotine 1. jan. 2016 kl. 13:28
Really cool!
Maktmästaren 12. dec. 2015 kl. 4:45
It is realy cool.
Piekenier 15. okt. 2015 kl. 14:56
Is it me or does the herding mechanic not give actual food and production to your cities?
ima 20. sep. 2015 kl. 4:16
This looks like a really good mod, but sadly it has way too much bugs for making it playable (sometimes you dont get the food bonus from herding, the game crashes if you herd too much, etc.). A lot of people would be happy if you could try to fix it, but thanks anyway for making such good mods.
Anon_2 13. aug. 2015 kl. 0:07
An enjoyable mod - hope you can upgrade this one to eliminate the bugs. First, this mod crashed more than any other mod I've used. Second, later in the game I noticed that the top layer in the map seemed to be missing - it was no longer possible to see a mine or an academy on a tundra tile, for example. Despite the crashing, this mod was still very enjoyable. Much appreciated.
Teddy-Sensei 27. juli 2015 kl. 8:50
Why no bonus to Deer?
navyseal007 3. juli 2015 kl. 6:33
did you make the mod because of anno domini? if so could you create the other civs to?
ieatkittensforfun 10. apr. 2015 kl. 17:18
Really great mod, if that Herding on large maps bug is fixed its easily my favorite. Great work.
クデアザ 22. feb. 2015 kl. 19:51
Hey! Id' just like to second jfrk comment. The herding does some times causes crashes. If I do herd and then try loading a game, quitting to menu or something, it does cause civ to crash. Also, beyond some set distance, it does not work anymore. Herding will crash... This is really sad :(
holojam 11. dec. 2014 kl. 0:48
Anyway, assuming you intend to fix the herding mechanic, I have a few ideas. It's really easy early on for your population to outstrip happiness levels--to the point where you're perpetually at negative happiness, but still somehow gaining citizens. This might be a natural way to mitigate the potentially game-breaking aspects of herding, but it's not really realistic to how herding would have affected an actual civilization.

I propose that upon researching philosophy, herding within your borders also provides +1 happiness for 10 turns per source of sheep, +2 per source of deer. It also stops providing food, but still provides production. Aside from balancing out unhappiness levels, this would give us also a reason to keep these guys around and not upgrade them to archers.
holojam 11. dec. 2014 kl. 0:47
I hope you guys are still updating this. I didn't know I could enjoy playing as an old lady. Boazovazzi herding is truly a game-changer. On Prince, they're just strong enough to withstand a surprise ambush attack from a barb. But since it replaces the scout, you can just move behind a hill and provide support for your warrior once he catches up. The fact that it upgrades to archer is almost game breaking, in regards to the potential promotions.
holojam 11. dec. 2014 kl. 0:46
The game has trouble with the UU herding mechanic. On a number of levels.

1. The herding side-notification displays "TXT_KEY_BUILD_SAMI_HERD_NOTIFICATION_TITLE"

2. Herding enough on a large map will cause the game to crash circa round 100. This happened a couple times. Afterwards, I resigned myself to playing on standard or small maps to avoid.

3. Saving and reloading the game is perfectly fine . . . until you've herded. I ran a test. After founding my first city, I saved and quit to main menu. No problems. Then I saved after herding a flock of sheep in the hills next to the capital. Quitting to main menu produces the dreaded loading ship and then: the rainbow wheel of force quit.

You can try to reload the save file, but the game will just immediatley crash.

I haven't tried waiting for the sheep to respawn and saving and reloading, but I'll let you know if it makes a difference.

Playing as Eadni was the first time I've ever enjoyed playing in the Ancient Era. Usually it's so dull. I really like this civ. The color scheme (dark gold on dark blue) is the real deal. Playing against her isn't too bad either. She's one of the more sane Civs, consistently coming up with fair trade proposals. However, I noticed some kinks that interfere with the overall enjoyment of the game.

Note: I'm playing from a Mac. Some of these might not apply to PC. I wouldn't have any way of knowing. I'm also playing using the debuffed version of the Boazovazzi you guys made available. I also disabled all other mods and ran this one in isolation.

Saamelaiset...
Mojave Neon 6. nov. 2014 kl. 18:13
One other thing I noticed was that this was one of the most crash-prone mod civs I've played. If I tried to load a saved game in game with them, the game automatically crashed, every single time. In addition, it crashed several other times on its own, usually when I was progressing to a new era or finishing a tech. The mod was still playable, but it took me longer to play because of the frequent crashes, and I had to save every two or three turns. Not sure what's causing the crashing issues, as it only happens when I played as the Sami, not when I played against them as an AI.
Mojave Neon 6. nov. 2014 kl. 18:08
This one was pretty good. The UA and UU both present a new way to play the game, and are quite a bit of fun. I didn't think either was overpowered, since the Boazavazzi's combat strength is weak enough that anything above a warrior or archer can kill it before it can kill them. The Seidi was disappointing. In all but one of my cities, only one spawned. You need to change it so that it automatically spawns three of them, no less. It was also kind of a drag in one of my cities, where the only seidi popped up on a tile I would have liked to improve (was a farm-capable tile in a city mostly made up of snow, so I could have really used the food). But to do so would have destroyed the seidi, which would have made it a complete waste in that city. You should change it so that seidis can co-exist with other tile improvements. The Sami are still pretty fun despite the disappointing UB.
vvmv 21. okt. 2014 kl. 11:19
VERY NICE !
I'm having great fun playing with this civ. A bit overpowered (quite easy deaity win), but fun. Boazovázzi a bit too strong, can take out barb camp in slow mode. This with his special making it a bit too strong. Sieidi a bit weird... one just popped on gibraltar on my current game, so i have a seid/gibraltar tile :D
Great work bro, this civ could have been in the core game with some tweaking. Thumb up
Alexandervv 11. okt. 2014 kl. 6:07
Crashes a lot for me
Gemini 13. sep. 2014 kl. 6:58
So I'm confused. Does the Unique Ability of the Sami only work if their next to tundra or snow? If so why don't they have a start bias? If not then I don't know what I did wrong, or why it's not working.
MOOMLEM 12. sep. 2014 kl. 9:28
Is there a timing for how long the herding lasts or is it random, between a certain amount of turns?
sheridan.kim 27. aug. 2014 kl. 9:27
I love this mod! The sound track is great, the art looks like it was made by firaxis, and the 3D models look well polished. It's also nice to see that the civopedia entries are complete. 5/5
Guy 26. aug. 2014 kl. 16:44
Umm do they have a start bias? cuz when i spawn in a game im not near tundra or deer :(

This mod works just fine except when I save and Ican't reload without crashing
Lofthæna Guðmundsdóttir 20. aug. 2014 kl. 12:20
can you add a fróði civilization next?
D1g1D2 8. juli 2014 kl. 17:08
After I subscribed to the mod, all the buttons for workers and settlers disappeared and were exchanged with promotion buttons that had (+50% Naval), etc? Is this norma?
3nz3r0 6. juli 2014 kl. 8:38
Fun civ but crashed my game 100+ turns in plus nearby furs were not connected to my civ even after camps
gglowell 4. juli 2014 kl. 16:18
@sander.jensen94 I am experiencing the same issue as you. I cannot see the mod anywhere in my list of playable peoples even though I am subscribed and have also tried to download it manually. Have you found a resolution?
Bubbiboor 22. juni 2014 kl. 18:37
It's about time we had a decent Sami Civilization! Great efforts from you guys! I love how it plays, the uniques, and the art! I love it!
76561198109593364 19. juni 2014 kl. 3:58
I apologize, I just got 25% extra gold for the siedhi, the lat post may be wrong..
76561198109593364 18. juni 2014 kl. 3:55
Also, The siedhi is not a temple but count as one. Hagia Sophia will not be add a temple, feed the (world) and the piety's policies wont raise food, money or faith as if we had a temple...
76561198109593364 17. juni 2014 kl. 7:19
The mod crashes the game when I try to reload a saved game while playing (I know, this is cheating). The Boazovázzi is OP when used to perform a "milk run" - every 25 turns in fast play the game comes back... Of course, the land is slowly occupied by those civilized citizens; poor hunters... The Sieidi should be added to tiles without resources. It is bad to have to remove this improvement to get a mine, etc... Try it on a ice age map- Even if snow tiles with 3 food is OP - hills with 3+2 prod basic yield is too much...
Sheep Sheepington 16. juni 2014 kl. 21:25
Have you made a starting bias for tundra? started 2 games in a jungle, and the showcase video is not in a tundra.
wolfhofmann 15. juni 2014 kl. 7:07
Yep. Same here. Love the mod, but it crashes as you advance in the game.
olivernoens 15. juni 2014 kl. 1:13
This mod keeps crashing the game, have BNW & G&K
ianbbgrant 13. juni 2014 kl. 13:43
For some reason or another, this mod crashes my Civ after a few turns... I have used many other mods and have never had my game crash before. I have G&K and BNW.
sukritact  [ophavsmand] 12. juni 2014 kl. 15:48
The color's are similar, but the Sámi use darker colors, and the blue is less green.
skaz88 12. juni 2014 kl. 14:10
Are these the same colors as Burma?
