best way to get seedlings imo, go to any grocery store, even if the food is rotten you turn then into seedlings, you need 10 cherries to make 1 cherry seedling, and all the rest of the fruits you only need 5 to make seedlings!

B42?

I might of installed this wrong, but I can produce a sapling if I catch the plants in their fresh state whenever loot resets on my SP world (sometimes) since they need to be fresh, and yet I can't plant these in the ground if I dig a furrow or by any other means. Am I doing something wrong? I got Mo' Crops installed as well.

So, apparently there is a skill book called "Farming: Trees" (bright green).

It can be spawned at

1. Gigamart
2. Gardening stores
3. Random kitchen drawers.

I tried looking through the local stores, but as i had visited the local ones in Louisville and cleaned them out (no respawn), and i didn't feel like driving across the whole map for one book, i added it with:

/additem XNTree.XNTreeRecipes

This will teach you how to create seedlings like "Create Seedling: Apple". Trees works like Strawberries in the game, Trees do NOT work like trees that live a long time - If you don't harvest the tree, it will grow old and die and all you get is a tree log.

I tested this and it works fine with Build 41.78.16 (Latest version as of April 29, 2024).

I have no clue how to get the seeds, people here are talking about "clicking on apples"? Wft does that even mean? I see no option to get seeds from for example apples anywhere by rightclicking anywhere on them, and eating them does not leave any kernels/seeds to plant. Where you get seeds are just poorly documented, it should be in the description, not in the comments.

Regardless, i added the seeds manually with /additem <seedtype> and it works, even in Multiplayer. It is also compatible (does not collide) with 'Mo Seeds that adds vegetables to plant.

Here are the seed types that you can add (requires Admin privileges):

your mod not working correctly

Esidara, I get the saplings from the fruit themselves, like right clicking on 5 apples or 5 oranges, but it does take 5 of them... or maybe it was 4. LOL. And I didn't have a problem harvesting them but I don't use other farming mods like soul's farming ones. I'm trying to get my mods down to under 100 right now and I'm at 243. LOL.

I've added this mod... but I can't find any saplings? Are we looking for seeds, like the other crops? Where's the best place to look?

The mod is broken, there is no update since 2021! The trees grow for a long time and disappear with a harvest without sometimes giving any fruit! There is a good idea but unfortunately abandoned. Moreover, it is impossible to remove a rotten shoot.

Great mod! Can we add pear trees? Also would be great to add the ability to make preserves and jams out of the fruit. I think doubling the amount of fruit especially since you can use rotten fruit) to make a sapling would make it less OP.

In fact i think trees could be better working as trash tiles, by serch with a window with huge spawn and later nothing to loot, yes should be fix trees, but even one of this trees take 1 or 2 years to give fruits, imnot sure if its psoible the time frame for the svange but i think it should work better as using the plantation system, aside of that its quiet a god idea this mod

because not every seed can grow into a plant. And besides, pineapple doesn't grow on a tree, it grows on a bush

Love the mod, but I was wondering - why does it take 4 pineapple saplings to 'sow' a pineapple tree? Is this intentional?

It works, BUT
1) icons are missing for planted saplings
2) trees dissapear after harvesting
3) can't plant pear, grapefruit, lime, mango
this mod needs improvement, the idea is good but the execution is lame

Clusters of fully grown fruit trees randomly appeared by the ones I planted and seem impossible to remove. Is there a way to remove/do I have to wait for them to rot?

Can you add pears? They grow just like apples and peaches. Also I agree the trees should not disappear after harvesting, you have to wait a year until it can be harvested again. I think it would be great if the season was involved when they trees bloom and then when harvest is ready for the year. Thank you for the mod!!

Mod works great as of today.
All the samplings spawn in stores with farming supplies as well as are craftable from foraged fruits.

Some planted trees rot either randomly or after they become "ready to harvest". Apple and banana trees were the ones that i had time to try. Cherry trees on the other hand work as intended as far as i can observe.

Nice mod, but tree's shouldn't disappear when you harvest, and the fruit cost for seedlings is way to high.

Can I create seedlings from existing oranges/apples? I can with cherries but can’t figure out how to get it form Oranges/Apples

Are we supposed to be able to make seedlings from rotten fruit? The crafting menu says only fresh fruit? And a lot of it! 10 cherries for 1 seedling.

I thought that was how trees repopulated, either the fruit drops, rots, and grows or something eats the fruit and poops out the seeds in fertilizer?

Has anyone had any issue were planting trees then watering them only to have them "vanish" after quitting the game and returning later? You still see the seedlings but no interaction. x.x;

Planted the trees, it gives in the "info" tab the min\max water.

How tall do these get and does the amount of water matter, unlike other crops that have to have between x & y amounts?

Any danger of an update here? - This mod looks awesome and want to use alongside Soulfilchers Farming Time and Analgins renewable food resources. From comments below a little worried this doesn't work correctly anymore!
