I'm gonna be honest, i've abandoned this as i haven't played ck2 and subsequently HIP in a long time now. As always feel free to take what i've done and use it because it's techincally not even mine in the first place

I can assume the other version works without SWMH as I did choose it when I was running the HIP installer.

@Ryan I can confirm portraits are messed up. I dont have CPRplus and that is most likely the reason. However CPRplus requires ALL dlcs for portraits so I believe you should update your required items and dlcs so that it's not confusing for every person trying your mod.

this mod was built to run with HIP where you just choose the default options and include SWMH and CrPlus from the installer. that should be the options that work because hip and swmh may control backgrounds and CrPlus definitely control a lot of portrait mechanics

I'm only running with HIP, no other mods... Is there something I should have done during the installation of HIP ?

@Ernahg that seems to be the issue that this patch is designed to fix when using the original version and hip tofether. it probably means that you are using a mod that adds new portraits to characters for reasons like culture, artifacts or titles. try and isolate those and see if removing them fixes it. portraits are stupidly simple that they can break very easily. if that doesn;t work then as always i would direct you to the crusader kings discord with a copy of your load order as i am definetly not an expert about modding.

Hey, I've an issue with this mod : character's backrgound are doing weird ♥♥♥♥ like step out of the character's frame. Is there a way to fix this ?

okay that makes sense, ck2 portraits work by selecting 1 of however many quadrants the portrait overlay file has. it's just a long ass file with portraits next to each other. you have to either merge the files they if use the same name and then go into the file that designates what quadrant to use and change the number to the correct one (for example, if there is 6 portraits normally but a mod adds enough to create 36, selecting portrait 1 will show 6 portraits on your character) or it's just changing the numbers a little if another mod changes the portrait numbers (for example, hip may change them)

unfortunately i've become even more busy than i said thanks to covid pushing college work back and now being told everyone in the class must catch up, please ask the in the crusader kings discord for better info, because i sure am no expert at all. i apologise

I tried using HIP,BLG+compatch and WOWGAG+compatch for blg, but didnt work, portraits where glitched, seems like the patch is outdated, i don`t know if the problem it`s just visual, but i believe it is looking at the compatch( the WOWGAG+BLG one) files, it`s probalby just a question of updating the existing compatch, but i don`t know how.
I also tried using you compatch, deleting the cprplus related stuff and putting in the blg compatch files, but the problem persisted.

tldr: sorry, if it's just the visual glitch i can spare time but otherwise i may have to change a tonne of artifact and event files to use things like religious syncretism or artifact collecting because i'm stupid and don't actually mod i just dirty manual patch my own problems because i'm stubborn and so don't know any faster or efficient ways

if that's true, the standard version of this mod should work with crplus-less hip, the only things i really fixed was the visual glitch and i manually merged the artifacts and events files which either fixed certain things or did absolutely nothing. if there's an issue with using both original mods then i'll be able to have a look in a few days, if not do it yourself. nothing complex but is time consuming. and i don't have much time rn sorry. BLG, a hip patch and the normal version of this should work, but if you get a similar visual glitch like this fixes then i can spend some time on it, it's just a very long process of manually changing portrait section referencing or whatever the number for the portrait quadrant to be used is called.

When installing hip you can choose to not install CRPPlus, allowing you to use BLG with a patch for hip here in the workshop.

BLG has a CKplus version that still works

i can have a look at it. however i don't know if better looking garbs can work with crplus due to doing to same thing?? i will post back here once i've found something later today after i have finished work

@Harald Hardrada Sorry mate but i don't think i have the original files anymore, this was just something rough i did once lol. What you can do is turn mods that you've taken from steam workshop into local mods and then install more from steam. you have to change the .mod.mod file to just a .mod and change the directory line in it. just google how to do it and some reddit post should come up. Hope that helps lad

Hey thanks for the mod! Just curious though but for the bloodline of Guan Wu is there a reason behind it not being Guan Yu? Like pronunciation difference during medieval Chinese etc. Thanks again!

Unless i'm mixing it up with something else because i'm a bit of an ♥♥♥♥♥. HIP has this feature where when reforming a pagan faith, there are doctrines called "<religious-group> syncretism" for christianity, muslim, eastern and mazdan faiths. having these doctrines allow you to also use those religions artifacts.

whats that about religious syncretism? you can't, say, reform hellenic and add christianity as syncretic?

This mod is just a version with the events and the artifacts changed to work better with HIP and SWMh, as well as fixing an issue with CRplus at the same time. It does not require the original mod because it is not a patch. I hope that helps
