1. Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2487794426\About"
2. Open "about.xml"
3. Find

what the heck are you talking about, this is a retexture-.- it couldnt wreck your save if it wanted to

I am using over 350 mods...
added this mod to saved game.
no change in appearance and next time i recieve gold.. dead game processing.
i reloaded save.
used up gold on hand building tiles and objects till 0 amount then saved
then uninstalled mod, started game reloaded new saved game and saved again
reinstalled mod, loaded save, worked like a charm
i did these steps for both the gold and silver coins mods at the same time works great now didnt have to kill my save

It still works on 1.4 without problems

And in fact there really were iron coins in China. They were used in Sichuan province in Song Dyansty temporarily.

But...In fact gold is not used for currency in the Rimworld...So gold coins look strange

Did some research, and yeah - it's a fascinating topic, all in all. But suffice to say, iron's totally good for coinage.

Iron coins is also a thing in the real world, not just fantasy settings.

Iron coins were used in a few fantasy settings, usually where it would be scarce, or as a sort of alternative currency such as in the case of Forgotten Realm - Notably Sembia during Time of Trouble, which had "steelpiece", valued on par with copper pieces elsewhere. So that actually would fit, especially if you were to use some of the other FR mods for Rimworld.

But yeah, normally people don't use iron for coins... Because iron's more valuable not as currency, but as weapons and armors. Gold is valuable without uses except for making statues and floorings for dining rooms, after all.

Completely missed the point, its just a texture mod. One that has some behind the scenes issues

Maybe also then make Silver be refinable into Gold Ore? And vice versa.

Now you too can make your silver look like gold!

The folder isnt named gold, its called silver so the silver coins would be showing up as gold, @AngryAussieDad

Put the texture mod you want as late as possible in the load order, that will make sure it\s the last texture to load and thus being used in game.

@AngryAussieDad You might have other retexture mods causing problems. Other than that, im afraid i cant help
