It replaces the vanilla Tanks. No need to place tanks.

Does this replace the vanilla tanks? and do i need to replace the old tanks on an existing save?

It may be that you have the conveyor bug, if you are going from o2h2 gen into hydro tank, then from there into survival tank, then there into the o2 tank, without any conveyor going around the tanks, then that may be the problem, you need to make sure the tanks are not integral parts of the conveyor line, so you have lines going past the tanks to other areas of the ship, its a known bug and others could explain it better but basically results in what you are saying, or alternatively the entire conveyor line fails to feed any gas at all, depends on how its conveyored

@Dathknight the hydrogen tank is directly connected to the o2h2 generator and the only other mods i have are ship speed increase, automatic ore pickup, encased gyro, and small ship jump drive, the other thing i noticed is that the tanks wont let hydrogen pass through them to the ships survival kit though it will let the oxygen tank down the line fill from the o2h2 generator

@unluckywizzard : I tested it and the tanks fill on my end.
Maybe the piping in the grid is broken or an other mod interfere in some way

As far as I know, yes this still works.
But the tanks don't explode like in vanilla SE.
