This is one of my favorite maps.

I thought maybe something like this might exist in map4 (splash4) and be the cause of the dedicated server crash where I described. I do not think your nav fix caused any problem, but I was hoping you could find and fix this... if it turns out to be a navigation issue like the one described for map5.

And of course, thank you @Xanaguy for your addon to fix nav attributes! It is great to be able to put this campaign back in rotation.
This addon only fixes nav attributes and removes certain entities via .lmp files.
You can try testing if it actually is related by removing the fix first, then trying the event again. If it is the cause, then I can look into it.
But to answer the question, all addons have to appear in that addonlist.txt file, if memory serves right, it just matters which one shows up first - from top to bottom.
For the clients of a server, this shouldn't matter as long as the host has the correct files loaded.
For the server itself, as long as this addon is before any of the 5 campaign parts in the list located in "Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/addonlist.txt", that addon's fix will take effect.
I have two questions about this statement:
**IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK, MAKE SURE THIS ADDON IS INSTALLED BEFORE ANY OTHER JOURNEY TO SPLASH MOUNTAIN PARTS**
1. How is this done/confirmed on a dedicated server?
2. How is this done/confirmed on a client PC?
