Good news, I'll be able to upload my mod tommorow likely. Tested and successfully have disabled the stray campaign map clouds. Was an incredibly fustrating process to figure out as changing the VFX files apparently do absolutly nothing, atleast from what I was able to observe.

So I'm looking into updating or fixing this mod my self. So far I've included all the alleged changes this mod made by looking at the data files. They don't have any effect it seems. I added additional changes to disable more cloud effects and yet there are still clouds. Going to have to look into this further.

I don't really play this game anymore so this also isn't high priority for me, just something I'm attempting to do in my free time.
I could publish essentially a beta edition of all my changes thus far - I cannot offer support beyond that however. This involves looking at all the VFX entries and disabling anything that seems to be related to cloud type effects.

Is it really so hard to update this mod to the latest patch for rome 2.... Naja you clearly don't want to reupload this mod updated but please from a total war fan to another plz update this mod my clunker of a laptop can only play rome 2 with this mod working :(

FYI: As far as I can tell, the workshop version of this no longer works. I used a workshop downloader to pull this file but it caused CTD's at the splash screen.

A working version (at least for GC purposes) is attached to this thread over at TWC [www.twcenter.net]. To download the file you need to be logged-in to the forums--kindof annoying, but I've been a member forever and don't recall them ever spamming me.

Once you have the file, unzip and drop into the "data" folder in the game directory. That's it, no need to fiddle with extracting .packs or PFM or whatever. It won't appear in the mod launcher, either.

So we have to change the PACK-file to a movie file? I don't have any clue how to do that ... could you post a link or write down a short tutorial for us?

Okay, here's what happened. Only Movie files (not Mod files) can edit graphics like clouds, confetti, dust particles, etc.

For some reason, the Workshop no longer allows you to download Movie files. So to make this work, you have to manually change this file into a Movie file. It should work then.

No, Naja. We're saying the mod does not work on Grand Campaign. There are still clouds getting in the way when this mod is activated.

Grand campaign, or a DLC campaign, crushr? I only made this for the Grand Campaign. Not Caesar in Gaul, Wrath of Sparta, etc.

I suppose I should get to those other DLC's when there's time.

I like ur idea on this, it's clever to remove the map for increasing fps on campaign map view
but i think, it's not working anymore since maps will still on the campaign map even that "sky" setting already put in low + this mod, so can u update this mod or maybe checking it for a while ? Ty
