Why did I mention the end user? Huge uncompressed textures kills integrated/low VRAM GPUs (so a good portion of laptop users, and also players in general because this is GMod after all), it deters (good) servers from ever using your weapons, it cripples load times on HDDs and storage space on SSDs...
Just because *a lot* of people don't know any better doesn't mean you have to follow suit. You can value graphics without having to resort to leaving around 70MB of pure bloat. That's why compression was invented
And you need uncompressed 4k textures why?
