Continuing from my previous content, It's like the cultivator is honor naming the player a "protector" due to the player defeating the ruin.

I will say that the cultivator at the end of the game still refers to the player as the protector even with this mod.

I guess it could be seen as just a "protector" in general and not as strictly part of the protectorate tho, after all at that point the player has protected the universe from the ruin lol.

I always delete the starting protectorate items when playing with this mod installed, but I am curious if anyone made non-protectorate equivalent items to those starter items.

I get this error on bootup. It's not game-breaking, but it has been here for a while.

Not only does this mod open the door to a much more immersive experience for custom backstories, it actually helps with the default story. Imagine if everyone in Fallout assumed you were a vault dweller, because you had a PIPboy! That's what it's like to pick up a MM in default Starbound. Like yeah, I have this tool, but what makes you think I'm part of an order that literally got uprooted and annihilated? It seems much more likely that I just picked it up off a corpse, or it flew through space and landed on my Homeworld, or hey, I was just cruising when I found it floating around. Well, now you can literally pick any background reason for why you have it. Ooh, thought of a good one, a Novakid duel at high noon, my opponent, the last protectorate. Mine, now.

Absolutely love this mod! Do you think you could add in changes for your character's dialogue when scanning protectorate items? Mods that make them acquirable or use them in custom dungeons still let you run into the problem of saying something like "I can't believe I'm graduating!" when scanning them. Still, it's a very good mod as is!

Extra Thicc Owl, I think that's because maybe if you didn't sign up for the academy, the cultivator know's you are a protector at heart for saving the universe. Maybe not even a protector as in the organization, but a protector of all living things

This mod seems to not work for me, as in the end cutscene, The Cultivator refers to me as a Protector.

Maybe? I don't use it so I don't know.

Small comment here, Personally I think starbounds story had potential, sure it let us down, but thats what mod creators are for right?

This kinda helps out. Also, the idea of having stolen the Matter Manipulator from an area, thanks to having come to observe graduation (under peace treaty to see how other species somehow get along), that might help. Although yes you could lie through gritted teeth and somehow pass with an 11.

It even makes sense if you are a protector, as no-one would know if you were because earth was destoyed (this is no spoiler. it's mentioned through the WHOLE GAME)

It's meant to be used alongside alternate start mods (such as Felin Intro or Racial Intros) which do explain how you got your matter manipulator.

Otherwise, if you just use it and hit "Skip Intro," you'll have to come up with your own explanation as to how you got the MM.

Question to Mod maker: sorry if I may have misread something, I am tired after job and huge bicycle trip, but will your mod work with mod that changes intros of vanilla races? I have Avali mod that I absolutely love and your mod makes a lot of sense that Avalian wouldnt be Protector sooo yeh I rlly want to have mod on my game, but I dont want my game to get broken due to two mods conflicting :/

@p_trevogin I think if character is not protector then character lets say stumbled upon the blueprints for Matter Manipulator cuz I believe in future like in Starbound ya could like easily download even stolen blueprint of Matter Manipulator and just idk 3d print that bad boio :p

The question is: if we are not a Protector, then how we got a Matter Manipulator, if they are only given at the Protectorate Academy as a symbol of Graduation? Have we just stole one from a real Protector?
