but wait that doesnt make any sense. theyre droids. arent they meant to be dumb and walk in a straight line and shoot at anything that moves with zero self preservation skills? I dont remember seeing a B1 use actual tactics in the show and movies unless you only apply the improved AI to the commando droids?

Yes, they simply utilise the squad system that the default combine AI use. All hostile NPCs spawned this addon will work together in a squad, one Droid will pop out to shoot, while one takes cover, etc.
