Copy abilities would only work for characters they programmed them for, which I would hazard to guess is only the game's official cast.

copy ability wont work

for some reasons when i swallow kris he doesn't get an ability and its just a question mark and it doesnt do anything

Hey just wanted to say that the original developers of this mod have mostly moved on from Rivals of Aether. The last patch we made was in November of 2020, so as you can imagine there are lots of bugs. It's still possible for a brave community member to fix these problems and add support for the new characters by making contributions to the repository at:

I imagine it's frustrating for all these crashes to be happening, we made this at a time when the workshop beta was brand new and nobody knew what they were doing haha

Looks cool but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ workshop character crashes my game 100% of the time either on character or stage select. Had to uninstall so giving it a hard pass

I decided to go through all my workshop characters to see which ones gave Kirby an ability and I found a lot of characters that crashed the game
I had a lot of characters, therefore, a lot of comments
I probably could've just listed all the characters into one comment but Flying Man was the last character that crashes

Are you ever gonna give copy ability support for Mollo, Olympia, Hodan, and Pomme? (for the base roster?) Also Flying Man was the last of the characters that crash the game against Kirby btw

Flying Man from Earthbound crashes

Thwumpkin vs Kirby crashes as well

Scorpion from Mortal Combat

Kirby + Scorpion = Crash

Pac-Man 2 crashes against Kirby too

And also Squidward's Suicide

He also crashes against Ornanolog's Squidward

And also Dimentio (WIP)
Sorry if I'm annoying you with all these characters that crash the game with Kirby, I'm just going through all my characters to see what copy abilities they give him (if any) and I ran into some party crashers. Literally.

He also crashes the game against Eddy from Ed Edd n Eddy

Whenever Kirby tries to do a match against Wario (Master of Disguise) or Inspector Gadget it crashes the game
