Also, flares take a long time to disappear and cause frame rate issues.

In multiplayer, other players see the flare gun as a regular revolver.

Fun fact, there was supposed to be a flare gun in hl2. But due to beta tester complaints, valve reduced the number of weapons. Since it made the game much more confusing, how the flare gun worked was it set enemies on fire.

no clue how but this caused major lag on our server, was looking forward to using it..
