I'm very much late, but to anyone coming after me and wondering, the mod does appear to be compatible with CK2+.
Riekopo 28. dec. 2022 kl. 1:15
Any chance of a final update?
zorro 27. nov. 2022 kl. 17:43
Well with this mod I will be calmer that my family rules for a long time
equatorialguinea4512 16. aug. 2022 kl. 1:36
Can you make one that's just for all monarchs? Just under co-ruler or something and you can appoint your children, spouse(s), or just any family member?
fatpancake23 15. feb. 2022 kl. 20:22
hopefully old julian the apostate doesn't swipe my position as emperor lol
josh4key 20. mar. 2021 kl. 15:21
Works with HIP (without EMF), save-game-compatible.
TheAuditor24 5. maj 2020 kl. 5:26
Compatible with WTWSMS?
littlesims 28. mar. 2020 kl. 15:50
Ck2+ compatible?
kurthakon 28. jan. 2020 kl. 15:48
Howdy! I just wanted to let you know that I've posted on the workshop a HIP compatibility version of your mod, which I of course credits you fully for.

If you want me to remove my version from the workshop, because you want to make your own or have any other reason at all, please let me know so I can remove it. :)

@Migstar117 I think I don't have time for this mod at the moment, for the real life problems are striking me hard right now. Feel free to make your own, if you want, given that you cite me!
Migstar117 24. nov. 2019 kl. 19:28
hey is that HIP compatibility mod on the way or have you shelved it?
Imperial_Taizu 2. nov. 2019 kl. 4:36
Love this mod man. Great work have been using this since it first came out.
Eternantium 11. sep. 2019 kl. 8:08
I'm definitely gonna use this for my next ERE run.
Keter 3. sep. 2019 kl. 9:11
dont mean to pester, but i eagerly wait for your HIP compatibility.
cjae 29. aug. 2019 kl. 2:01
does this work with HIP yet or is it coming in the future?
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 24. aug. 2019 kl. 5:08
@metaluis90 Yes, that is intended. +25 for being a co-emperor, additional +10 for being an adult co-emperor.
lmfao 13. aug. 2019 kl. 0:10
@Reiksguard me agrees, but have the title be destroyed when an emperor dies and give the heir to the Kingdom that founded it (irl, Germany) a decision to crown himself (w/ or w/o papal approval)
ɌƗȻꝀŦɆɌ 8. aug. 2019 kl. 0:55
@Reiksguard what Reiksguard said, but limiting it ONLY to the heir, and making something like "King Elect of Germany/Romans"
Salicy 29. juli 2019 kl. 18:31
Dats damn great mod. also, would you plz make hre vision too??
Inquisitioner 14. juli 2019 kl. 3:12
I tried it out on an ongoing game and it seems to work. Albeit gave me microstutter. Also has the double opinion bonus as mataluis90 mentioned below.
Inquisitioner 13. juli 2019 kl. 14:12
Does this still work with the current 3.2 version?
YuK_metaluis90 19. feb. 2019 kl. 16:29
I tried and worked well so far. I could appoint a symbasileus using the portrait menu, and it shows as a council voter on the menu.

One question, is it normal that the symbasileus gets the same opinion bonus on the elector panel twice? I'm talking about the "He is already emperor, what else?" the symbasileus gets.

Great mod, man.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2019 kl. 5:48
Ok. I will try to build a compatibility version this weekend.
Paul Allen 17. feb. 2019 kl. 8:46
it seems to work for the most part other than the co-emperor voting slot. i think that HIP has some different names or localization for the court jobs or something like that
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2019 kl. 5:28
I have no idea, since I do not have any gameplay experience in HIP. Would you mind testing it out and let me know of the outcome? I may post it on the description. Thank you in advance!
YuK_metaluis90 16. feb. 2019 kl. 17:12
Is this compatible with HIP?
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 9. jan. 2019 kl. 3:38
Updated: Now you can (tyrannically) appoint people that are not the heir to the empire as co-emperors. This will, however, cause a prestige hit and vassal opinion penalties. So you'd better first make them heir to the empire and then make them symbasileuses. Note that your children are exceptions to these rules, and now you can make them symbasileuses from their birth, as the real Byzantine Emperors did historically.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 8. jan. 2019 kl. 23:38
@In theory, yes. I also know that mod and I am currently trying to build a version of my mod that is integrated to the imperial court societies (like, the symbasileus replacing the ICS imperial regent position).
MalikFrost 8. jan. 2019 kl. 18:52
WIll this mod be compatible with The Imperial Court Societies mod?
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 6. jan. 2019 kl. 17:43
@gorrila19 yes, but they will do so only if the heir is ai's close family.
gorrila19 6. jan. 2019 kl. 13:47
Will the AI be able to use this?
finrod 5. jan. 2019 kl. 2:10
Works just fine. I'll make some suggestions in the appropriate thread. Thank you for the mod, @bighungryjames, it's really a mechanic that PDX must implement in the base game.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 5. jan. 2019 kl. 1:39
@finrod Hm... According to the logics, that should be possible if that non-dynast is the prefered candidate by the voters. The conditional phrase should check if the character is the heir to the byzantine empire, so if you get him to be the heir to the Byzantium, you should be able to appoint him the symbasileus. If not, notify me and I should devise a method to allow that. I cannot test it right now, so notify me asap. P.S. What can't I do for the mighty Lord Felagund the Master of Nargothrond? :)
finrod 5. jan. 2019 kl. 1:09
Hm, can you make a non-dynasty character your co-emperor ? I'm thinking in the line of Romanos Lekapenos and Constantine VII co-rulership. Also, for child-emperors, can you designate your regent as co-emperor ?
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 4. jan. 2019 kl. 7:05
@Lavrentiy Beria My pleasure. Actually it is truely an honour to hear that my idea triggers your history class flashbacks; my country only have very brief history sessions in Byzantine Empire due to the geographical distance, so I had to learn pretty much everything on my own.
Lavrentiy Beria 4. jan. 2019 kl. 2:07
Holly heck, have to say mate kinda forgot the Co-Emperor "situation" for some time and gave history lessons flashbacks.

For good reason as well, indeed you made very good points since current features are lacking fully giving us more a "historically accurate" how the Empire really functioned. Paradox should pay you and implement this mod in the base game; well done.
alphonsechristophe 21. dec. 2018 kl. 19:52
Reported bug in bug report.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 11. dec. 2018 kl. 10:29
@Grzesio Yes, with a council vote as well.
Grzesio 11. dec. 2018 kl. 9:45
So its just another despot but with opinion bonus and born in purple offspring, right?
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 11. dec. 2018 kl. 2:25
@kamcity13 Well, that's a to-do list on my side (future plans for the mod), so you don't need to do anything on your side. I'm still a learner as this is my first ck2 mod. I wish I knew how to add cloth/portrait changing depending on the honourary titles.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 11. dec. 2018 kl. 1:19
@Heavy, Glad to hear that. I'm absolutely flattered. Enjoy!
Havvy 10. dec. 2018 kl. 22:48
This mod seems like the thing that Paradox should pay you for the rights for and then add to the base game.
Imperial_Taizu 10. dec. 2018 kl. 21:58
@bighungryjames @kurthakon Thanks for the info. Also how do I add the graphical GFX so that the Symbasileus wear Emperor clothing.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 10. dec. 2018 kl. 17:32
@Lord_Daemonar Yes, it will. But the name of the title will be changed to Co-Emperor.
Lord_Daemonar 10. dec. 2018 kl. 9:20
Does this mechanic continue working once the Roman Empire is restored?
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 9. dec. 2018 kl. 21:35
Oh, and to search these kinds of information in the web, use the keyword "phorphyrogenitus" or "born in the purple", instead of symbasileuses. The term "Symbasileus" is not generally used in English literatures, as this is, strictly speaking, a Greek word just transcribed in Latin alphabet. Most of the English texts use "co-emperors" instead. It seems it is CK2's policy to add more flavor by intentionally avoiding the use of proper English translations for many of the titles, most notably Kaiser for the HRE.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 9. dec. 2018 kl. 21:26
@kamcity In addition to the most popular case of Basileios II the Bulgar-Slayer, the empress Zoe, one, was also considered phorphyrogenita (which is the key reason why marrying her granted the throne to three different emperors) despite the fact that she was daughter to Konstantinos VIII (Constantine VIII), who never really ruled as the senior emperor. Hope this answers your curiosity.
kurthakon 9. dec. 2018 kl. 11:50
@kamcity13 There's at least one known case of this actually happening. Basil II 'the Bulgar Slayer' was born during his grandfather's reign, and was considered as born in purple despite the fact that Basil's father Romanos II didn't ascend to the throne until 1-2 years after Basil's birth.
Imperial_Taizu 9. dec. 2018 kl. 6:42
Was this indeed factual?? Cant find anything about a symbasileus children being born in purple in history.
bighungryjames  [ophavsmand] 8. dec. 2018 kl. 20:27
@kurthakon Oh, thank you. I will test it now. Thank you for reporting it to me.
