Yeah lmao, my bad, didn't consider actually reading the mod description.
Shidan  [autor] 25 OCT a las 7:06
Make sure you're not using a mod like Advanced Combat Rules, which when used together drastically increases lighting damage.

Otherwise, you can give your characters burn resistant armour to protect them. Or grab the mod in the description that removes damage from the lightning.

I like the gas feature because it gives a reason to use a gas mask, but the lightning needs to be toned down. My crew on fishman island is getting hit nonstop and weaker members literally just die offscreen, including my two lvl 90 weapon and armour smiths that got hit by the same bolt.
zeMantras 10 SEP a las 5:31
watching a lvl 60 warrior get struck by lighting in Deadlands and almost dead with 1 hit made my day. terrifying
leon2356 28 JUL a las 14:36
I do use the mood weather mod, that is probably causing it.
Shidan  [autor] 28 JUL a las 14:11
Very odd. May be a mod conflict of some kind. Some other mod tweaking the behavior of a weather effect I use, that while either work fine on their own, the edits together lead to that behavior.
leon2356 28 JUL a las 11:55
Yea. when I moved they would follow my camera.
Shidan  [autor] 28 JUL a las 6:12
Was the fog following your camera? Because fog in the deadlands should just be clouds that spawn on the ground and float around.

They are intended to be super thick, but you can still see around them with your camera. They should only be obscuring what's directly inside them.
leon2356 28 JUL a las 0:54
Anyone else having problems with SUPER thick fog in the deadlands? It's so thick i can barely see more then 5 feet and it last for days in-game. It's so bad i had to turn off the mod.
Shidan  [autor] 11 JUL a las 14:42
Nope, I pondered having some swamp gas of some sort, but never implemented any gas hazards in those regions.
Luft 11 JUL a las 14:37
Hello, I'm troubleshooting my Kenshi modlist and was wondering if this mod affects appearance of Toxic Gas weather in the Swamp, Burning Forest or South Wetlands.
Thank you

Hello, is this mod compatible with PSO?
k|Aquila Mars 15 MAY a las 13:18
I figured that'd be the case, great mod, finally some of the environmental stuff is an actual threat instead of mild annoyances.
Shidan  [autor] 15 MAY a las 13:07
Skeletons by default are immune to all environmental hazards. It could be changed by a mod, but then I'd be removing some of their vanilla hazard protection too. There is no unused hazard type that I could use as a stand in.
k|Aquila Mars 15 MAY a las 13:05
I'd say lightning should be lethal to skelemen, I imagine it is a game limitation but I don't see a massive does of electricity doing nothing to something that functions via circuits.
Shidan  [autor] 25 ABR a las 14:17
Beyond the one I mentioned, no clue. I'm not even sure why that mod conflicts that way, so I don't know what kinds of mods to look out for.
DiscoDream 25 ABR a las 14:12
I'll look through my modlist, anything I should look for?
Shidan  [autor] 25 ABR a las 13:17
No, it sounds like you have another mod on that is conflicting. "Advanced Combat Rules" has been known to conflict in this manner, and possibly other mods could too.
DiscoDream 25 ABR a las 13:06
Is lightning supposed to do 600 damage in the Deadlands? My entire squad was just wiped from standing alittle too close to a skeleton.
Reeva! 6 ABR a las 1:57
Damn I had problems with some weird mods messing up Toughness stats, my toughest boys could wash their faces with acid and heal quicker than hazards could hurt 'em, couldn't get their damn limbs off for replacement. It got so bad that Fogmen trying to eat them on prisoner poles actually made them regenerate HP. Now I got the power of the sun to sort me out, thanks Shidan.
DiscoDream 1 ABR a las 5:35
The most effective way to remove unwanted limbs <3
Shidan  [autor] 12 MAR a las 16:22
Yes. So things like Dustcoats and Crab Armour will provide protection against it, and Skeletons are immune.
TheyCallMeVincenzo 12 MAR a las 16:04
Is lightning resisted by burning resistance?
maks052 17 DIC 2024 a las 6:15
Hello. Your mod is great! I used it in my maksimum kenshi mod set, I hope you won't mind. I will definitely indicate your mod in the list of used mods. Thank you in advance.

what counts as metal? any plate or chain armour, weapons, skeletons, and prosthetics?
Shidan  [autor] 28 NOV 2024 a las 9:55
No, I gave fogmen gas immunity, so they can live freely there in the gas clouds.

As for what counts as metal? No clue honestly. FCS claims it tracks metal, but does not elaborate on how it works. It might be as simple as tracking metal content on items, like how the furnace works to salvage metal. It might only track ground metal content, like from resource nodes. It might be some other unknown algorithm. Or it might even not work at all. You never really know with Kenshi honestly.
Max Warden 15 OCT 2024 a las 9:45
It's fine for the most part, burning protection just became mandatory. it is rather funny to see group fighting and getting zapped because a skeleton was in the fight as well
Shidan  [autor] 15 OCT 2024 a las 5:37
Technically, lightning is an aoe hazard, with a small radius and short lifespan. So yes, if your fast enough to run through the bolt after it struck, you'll still take damage.

Though it also sounds like you have the mod mentioned below, which accidentally buffs lightning. As that was way too much damage.
Max Warden 15 OCT 2024 a las 2:04
Ok so as i understand you don't really need to get directly hit by lightning. My turbo fast amazon prime delivery courier ran past the lighting and took measly 1.5k damage.
yourpersonalanimegf 19 AGO 2024 a las 12:13
that would be it LOL yeah ill just open up kenshi mod tool and tone down the dmg manually then, i love the fact it exists so much
Shidan  [autor] 19 AGO 2024 a las 7:53
Do you have the "Advanced Combat Rules" mod? It's been known to interact poorly with the mod, drastically increasing lightning damage.
yourpersonalanimegf 19 AGO 2024 a las 1:35
lightning instantaniously vaporized my full hp 90 statted masterwork armor hive soldier leaving there hp bars at -150+ dead immedietly
Laughing Forest 18 AGO 2024 a las 13:00
thanks mate
Shidan  [autor] 18 AGO 2024 a las 12:55
No, it should work fine on the current version.
Laughing Forest 18 AGO 2024 a las 12:37
Does this need to be updated to be compatible with the most recent version of kenshi and the FCS?
st4rg1rl 14 AGO 2024 a las 17:44
good lord the gas in the deadlands is absolutely atrocious, i cant see jack shit its completely opaque, this needs fixing
Kodi Sky 29 JUL 2024 a las 12:53
yknow Id be interested to see if Scaraw's running Kenshi through Vulkan mod will positively effect the insta kill issues from the damage over time lasting longer than intended because the game is so much smoother.
Shidan  [autor] 29 JUL 2024 a las 6:46
Fog King is not vanilla, so his mod would need a compatibility patch.
Lord Dude 29 JUL 2024 a las 3:01
Fog King die from the fog...
Kodi Sky 3 MAR 2024 a las 4:17
However personally I did not find it cheap to lose my squad to lightning because after it happened to one guy I started hiding in the buildings and then it was only at the end during a messy retreat where I gave someone with an injured leg the order to pick someone up that I got hit again.
Kodi Sky 3 MAR 2024 a las 4:14
Maybe its cuz I was running with too large a party and it was lagging the game, when I was at the Skin Bandit HQ I lost characters to the lightning but at the same time my game was quite framey by that point in the play through so the fact that it is dmg overtime, perhaps the lightning bolt stays around longer than expected when the system is at its limit with oversized squads.
Shidan  [autor] 29 FEB 2024 a las 12:19
Back in 2018.
David Hogins 29 FEB 2024 a las 12:12
You tweaked it down these days or in 2018? There were no recent updates
Shidan  [autor] 29 FEB 2024 a las 5:56
True, and I first had it giving lethal damage. But found very quickly it's poor gameplay to suddenly lose characters with nothing you could have done.

So I tweaked it down to give very heavy injuries. So now if you get struck, you have a chance to save them, and only lose a character if you're reckless or unprepared.
Kodi Sky 29 FEB 2024 a las 5:32
Not many people would survive getting struck by lightning and if they did maybe they would not want to have survived so people death makes sense.
David Hogins 28 FEB 2024 a las 6:21
That could be it, tested again and received half of the damage, but it is heavily inconsistent
Shidan  [autor] 28 FEB 2024 a las 5:52
No, naked, for that explicit reason. Could be you have another mod affecting it, if one can, others could.

Otherwise the only thing that comes to minds is that maybe you actually got struck twice in such quick succession that it looked like one. Or you got a bolt that stayed around just a tiny bit longer than it should, and triggered damage twice, as technically they deal damage over time.
David Hogins 27 FEB 2024 a las 22:39
Idk i took 200 damage from that, im not using "advanced combat rules", so im not sure whats happening, what i did notice is that the lightning deals burn damage, are you perhaps making your tests with a Dustcoat?
Shidan  [autor] 27 FEB 2024 a las 20:39
Do keep in mind that the "Advanced Combat Rules" mod somehow interferes with lightning damage, drastically boosting it. Nothing can be done if you're running it, short of removing one mod or the other.

My lightning should never give more than a heavy injury to even a weaker character like a hiver, and will only kill an injured one.
