With the Riallwood - Basic pack there is a monument that would work well for this purpose.
I'm super happy with the way that this pack turned out and I hope that you enjoy playing with these templates, as much as I enjoyed making them.
Once a template has been placed and is still in the ghost form (before you press build) its possible to manipulate the terrain below it to dig out a root cellar, and the building witl still build fine. In fact so long as you have dug down about 9 blocks or so you should be able to create a room down there using the simple room tool and cut a hole in the floor of the template.
This - shouldn't- mess things up too much but windows and doors can disappear when you change a the dimensions of a room. Making a side access (digging a stairway next to the building rather than cutting through the floor) should work better.
I could make a video on it if that would help?
Underground houses are tricky... I'm experimenting to see how far I can push them but I don't have any satisfactory results yet. Stay tuned though... ACE might come up with something awesome.
