It is broken now. You can design your daughter as heir but somehow it is not recognized by the game and send the message that there is no heir.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. 2021 kl. 16:04
@Falling314 I don't know for certain, but I don't think it's an issue of bugs per say. I think it's just a matter of the mod being incompatible with the current CK2 patch

In which case, it should actually just be a simple matter of re-entering the code that the mod changes on top of the new CK2 base files
Sullyvanthus 1. okt. 2021 kl. 8:33
@Yoshilin Thank you. Do you have any idea of the current bugs, so I can have a place to start looking, or is that something you haven't been able to keep up with?
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2021 kl. 19:18
@Falling314 Yeah man, absolutely. I sort of shifted entirely over to CK3 when it released and haven't really the time or desire do continue supporting this mod. But if you're happy to do so and want to attempt it then absolutely go for it, you have my approval
Sullyvanthus 30. sep. 2021 kl. 18:44
Hello Yoshilin (and others :)
I was thinking about looking working on this mod (no promises), and was wondering if I could have your blessing to maintain it if I get it going, as well as any known bugs.

Again, no promises even if you say yes, but I will be looking into it.
czarbulba 20. aug. 2021 kl. 17:10
my friend please, update this mod ! its essential to use if you wanna play as a republic of any kind...
lalarukh3 14. okt. 2020 kl. 5:06
So is this definitely not working with 3.3? Too bad...
Kyle Bagel 26. aug. 2020 kl. 5:31
Damn shame I found this mod to late. I found a way to get female patrician leaders in vanilla but its such a dam chore to deal with.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 22. aug. 2020 kl. 12:06
Well I don't know what to tell ya mate. It's a mod, optional user-created content - i.e. you don't have to use it if it offends you, isn't that great. Thing is, I'm struggling to understand how you even found your way to my mod in the first place, if it's not something your interested in and further, why you are still willingly and without solicitation, engaging with it more than 3 months later...?
Darth Aldanath 22. aug. 2020 kl. 9:53
Sure - doesn't bother me. Seethe more. :steammocking:
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 21. aug. 2020 kl. 1:13
Not normally perhaps, but an unsolicited response left 3 months after the fact? Now that's unusually committed :steamsalty:
Darth Aldanath 20. aug. 2020 kl. 20:45
If you'd call a comment on a steam mod a heavy investment then sure.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2020 kl. 7:24
@DathAldanath I gathered that thanks, your opinion was unnecessary but noted. I'm not sure why you felt the need to clarify yourself 3 months later... You seem pretty invested in a mod which you claim to be in opposition too
Darth Aldanath 20. aug. 2020 kl. 6:49
I just want to clarify that my 'no' was in the line of just being in total disagreement with the concept, not that the mod didn't work.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2020 kl. 3:00
Sorry guys, as some have pointed out the mod is not currently up to date with CK2 patches it would seem and is no longer working as intended. However, in light of the release of CK3 I likely won't be keeping this mod updated any more as my focus will be migrating over to the new game. Your continued interest in the mod is appreciated however and I apologise for the inconvenience
Bonkurazu 24. juni 2020 kl. 3:23
Doesn't seem to work, I can designate a female heir but it doesn't recognise them and defaults to one of my male children. If the daughter is the only child I just get a game over. Tested it several times with only this mod enabled.
Darth Aldanath 12. maj 2020 kl. 10:38
No
Sugandhalaya 25. feb. 2020 kl. 11:38
no matter which succession law i choose and which designated heir i choose, it always goes back to agnatic patrician eletice and my daugthers get ignored.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2020 kl. 22:45
@mr.milkmann Glad to hear. I did look into it briefly but hadn't found anything yet
Mr.MilkMann 22. feb. 2020 kl. 16:47
Curiously, the issue seems to have resolved itself somehow. Thanks regardless if you tried to fix it.
Mr.MilkMann 21. feb. 2020 kl. 21:58
I recently encountered a surprising issue in my most recent run. I was playing as a Reformed Hellenic with the Temporal reform (I'd already instituted Absolute Cognatic) and my most promising heir was female, so I designated her as heir. However, upon my character's death, I found that my temporal status was not granted to my heir, but rather her brother, since the Hellenic Temporal leadership title was permanently stuck on Agnatic Gavelkind. However, oddly, it showed her as the heir to it regardless, all the way up until my character died.

While I was running a number of other mods, I tried this again by starting a new game with nothing but this and "Sketchy Cheat Menu" so that I could reform Hellenism rather quickly. But no matter how I implemented Absolute Cognatic, using the cheat or without, I still found that the Hellenic Temporal title to be stuck on Agnatic Gavelkind. A fix would be much appreciated, and thank you in advance.
rolfey1328 19. feb. 2020 kl. 22:00
Thank you, I double checked last night and MRs with female heirs do work in AGOT
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2020 kl. 23:57
@rolfey1328 I can't say I've tested it myself but it is highly unlikely that the two would be compatible based on the sheer scope of files changed by the AGOT mod - it being an overhaul mod.

They may have removed or broken the feature to do so in the AGOT mod since, but I'm almost certain you used to be able to have female heirs in republics, as I implemented aspects of code from the AGOT to get this one working.
rolfey1328 18. feb. 2020 kl. 23:01
Does this mod work for AGOT? Or is this already part of that mod? I think I tried a MR as a female targ but It didn’t work :/
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2020 kl. 10:59
@BelestairMamoru If you just want to play as a Female Patrician there are several options.

- If playing an existing republic, like Venice for example, you can always Ruler Design a female patrician.
- If you want a custom experience you could start as a female Tribal Ruler and reform to a Republic. You can use console to accelerate this process, although this feature is one that is not currently working.
- Additionally your method also works, although it's a bit of a clunky solution as you said.

For the sake of your game however, I see no reason why you would have any issues. In fact, if you intend to play an immortal character, you might not have a reason to use my mod at all – as it is essentially just a mod that enables Patrician's to have female heirs.

Either way, I hope to get around to resolving the issues I spoke of earlier.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2020 kl. 10:59
@BelestairMamoru In truth, I think the mod is a little broken right now. Recent updates have caused issues that I haven't really been in a position to resolve as of yet.

Among other minor things, like allowing female Tribal rulers to reform as a Republic, the mod is basically just supposed to provide Republics the ability to implement gender succession laws which will allow for female heirs.
Iron Hull Bill 17. feb. 2020 kl. 9:52
So what does this do exactly?
As im just stating out playing a female lead merchant republic.
But i play an immortal from the start, so the death and election thing shouldnt be an issue right?
But it takes alot of console command modding and fooling around to get it to work.
i basically have to give some random dude a duchy, coastal city, turn him into a merch republic,
find out his family palace title name, and steal it, and his land. Bam im a female leader of merch republic, and so far no game over. only thing is it shows i have no electee in the republic screen.
but i wont die, so they can jostle all they want right?

Their is only 1 problem with this mod... You forgot to modifie the "feature" file of pagan reformation. Wish will most likely make issus if you want to form a merchant republic as a pagan.

Nice

Update for 3.1?
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 18. mar. 2019 kl. 2:55
Paradox's terms don't allow you to patent an idea, and even if you could, as I said, I did not get the idea for my mod from yours, the fact that your mod did not work only lead me to creating my own as an alternative.

Look, I took you localisation file and used it in my own mod, and for that I am sorry, in hindsight it was not a good idea. I was planning to use the same titles anyways and was just being lazy. If it means that much to you, I will create a new excel document and retype it out. Otherwise though there is no relation between your mod and mine, this mod is not intended to be and never was an update of your mod. It's an alternative if you will, just another mod attempting to achieve a similar in-game result, and you can't be credited for that.
mrtats 17. mar. 2019 kl. 19:06
That ridiculousness is the Paradox Interactive's terms of use get used to it.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 17. mar. 2019 kl. 14:07
Alright, I know I said I'd leave it but what your saying is just ridiculous. You are effectively saying that at this point I should credit you for having an idea before me, because the point that you really seem to be missing from what I am saying is that, with the exception of the localisations which I have already discussed my reasoning behind, there is nothing of your mod in. All the actually code of the mod was scraped and redone from vanilla game files, the only thing I maintained was the one excel document. There is nothing to credit.
mrtats 17. mar. 2019 kl. 11:24
You really miss the point, it doesn't matter if new updates somehow broke the mod or if the mod doesn't work anymore. You still require permission.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 17. mar. 2019 kl. 10:52
Well to your last point, then there should be no problem because as I've explained, it was not an update of your mod as your mod did not work - that one clause about the updating patrician house laws effectively rendered your mod useless. So yes, I rewrote the code to incorporate the AGOT fix and changed a few of the 'is_female=no's to yes same as you, that's not plagiarism that's just how you enable the features. Further to that, since the Holy Fury update, almost all the files in question had to be changed as Paradox overhauled much of how succession laws and governments work because of the new Reformation mechanics - as a result virtually all the files in my mod were just straight up redone from the vanilla base files. And so, the only thing, and to which I have admitted is that I used the same localisation titles as your mod, which again, are just the historically accurate feminine versions of the male titles. But anyways, this is just petty now, and so I'll leave it at that.
mrtats 17. mar. 2019 kl. 8:48
It did work, it just did not automatically updated the Patrician House succession laws which by the way what that code from AGOT does. So what you rewrote was just incorparating the AGOT code. Nothing more, nothing less. And no we did not settle this as what you did is against Paradox Interactive's Terms of Use. You have to ask for permission to even update an old mod that doesn't work.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 17. mar. 2019 kl. 7:24
Firstly, I thought we'd already settled this, I don't know why you're still commenting almost a year later. We both came to the idea of the mod separately; I was playing a republic save and thought it'd be cool to have my daughter inherit, so I searched the workshop for something that would allow that, which lead me to finding your mod. I didn't deny anything, when I found your mod, it straight up did not work. So I rewrote the code, a portion of which came from the AGOT mod, I just so happened to use your same localisation file as a base for mine because, to be honest, I just couldn't be bothered creating a new excel file. So with the exception of some of the localisation terminology which our mods share, which as I said then, are just the feminine versions of the in-game male titles, there is no relation between your mod and mine. Since then I've continued to update my mod with functionality for newer expansions, such as HF and so have furthered this even more.
mrtats 17. mar. 2019 kl. 6:25
Man, I love how you still claim you come up with the idea of this mod when you blatantly plagiarized my mod, which I released in 2015 and denied everything when I asked about credits.
Yoshilin  [ophavsmand] 13. feb. 2019 kl. 18:07
Finally got around to updating the mod to the latest version, sorry for the wait I was being particularly lazy. Additionally I added the ability for Reformed Pagans with the Enatic Clans Doctrine to pass Enatic/Enatic-Cognatic succession laws, which was a feature requested by some.

My testing hasn't been thorough so I'm sure there might be a few bugs, feel free to leave a comment if you find any issues.

I founded a merchant republic as a woman with this but still got Patrician succession :/
루・나・아・라 8. dec. 2018 kl. 16:34
In the vanilla game it does not allow merchant republic reform to enatic clans. I want to reform to enatic as republic lol. Can u plz add this function
루・나・아・라 8. dec. 2018 kl. 16:32
does not work for pagan group. I am a female Hellenic ruler of Venice and I want to reform Hellenic to enatic clans
mlamlah 1. dec. 2018 kl. 20:11
I'm experiencing the problem that even on a clean save with no other mods enabled, this mod isn't really effecting republic succession. Feudal titles honor the designated heir, but other than that it defaults to agnatic cognatic.
