With regards to the hydrogen farm are you able to also make the glass areas black? To follow the appearance of Nikolai's mod? If I've understood your science and the logic behind the oxygen farms, the plants we see are redundant in the hydrogen farm :)

Yeah the 2 should be as i always use SKBN as a tag on my object names and subtype id's so there should be no over write.
As for the cooperative on the Biomass _ organics ABSOLUTELY YES lets work on that.
the 2 mods should be compatible, as i have named the subtypeID for the Large version on a small grid SmallBlockLargeHydrogenFarm' and i doubt you have the same subtypeID for your 1x1x3 small grid version.
Also if you are interested this could be made to use Biomass/Organics, which the game does have an icon and an 'ore' for but is just disabled in the game, i can work on a few files that we could both include with both mods that wont harm eachothers mods if one overwrites the other with regards to enabling this biomass :)
