Version 0.7.0

I'm pleased to announce the release of a new feature that absolutely nobody has requested: developer commentary! By checking the box in your PDA options labeled "Enable Audio Commentary", you will enable non-audio commentary throughout The Caldecott Caper, in which I blather about how and why I did various things within the mod. Strongly discouraged for first-time players, as the commentary spoils events within the campaign.

Mercenary hiring cost now scales by level. In particular, it's much cheaper to hire another runner for your very first recruitment mission.

PC Deckers now start with Killer 1 in addition to their other programs.

Slightly increased the heat threshold on early matrix penetrations. This should make them more feasible for PC deckers who haven't had a chance to upgrade their decks yet.

Rafik now carries Bliss instead of Rilaxin.

The AP cost for Heat Wave has been reduced from 2 to 1.

You'll now hear from associates of the smugglers after dealing with them at the port.

Added a brief final dialogue for one possible outcome of the very last fight.

Restructured the music during the final fight. There's still potential wonkiness, but it should no longer drop out for a long period of time after hacking a Matrix node.

Waypoints for alternate meatspace objectives are now removed after achieving your Matrix goal in the final fight.

Meatspace environmental effects should no longer display while jacked into the Matrix.

Created a work-around for a Hong Kong bug that caused civilians to stop animating after reloading a saved game.

El Duce can now be hired for the Berkeley runs.

Dorbi's waypoint now receives camera focus at the start of the relevant phase of the heist, which should help players locate it in the absence of a usable compass.

Pale Pete will wait until he spots your primary character before initiating conversation.

Improved the descriptions of several companion upgrade abilities, particularly Rafik's "Fan the Hammer".

Improved some companion animations during conversations.

Crows now fly away when disturbed.

Rain is now louder on several late-game maps.

Improved Shiawase office map: More of the skyline is visible when near windows; skyline now shows during your final visit; straightened some walls on the top floor; doors are locked on the ground floor during your final visit; employees now applaud in action text rather than speech bubbles.

Upgraded the northernmost car on the train.

Numerous minor improvements to dialogue and other text throughout the campaign.

Added more descriptive roll-over text to several items, particularly Matrix nodes and scene transitions.

Update: 21 Feb, 2016 @ 9:17pm

Cool... I think I now have a slightly better mechanism for republishing to Steam, which should help avoid these infernal double-updates. Thanks to @Axis Mundi for sharing a new way to handle this.

Version 0.6.4:

El Duce now has appropriate weapon skills at the 2nd level. Thanks to @Ichthyic for reporting this.

Corrected a dialogue check on the train to properly test for STR instead of CHA. Thanks to @OptoNick for reporting this one a while ago!

Most Shiawase guards now use the new models from Shadows of Hong Kong.

Added new FX to a bunch of maps.

Updated audio in a few places.

Update: 15 Feb, 2016 @ 8:42am

The Steam, the snotgreen Steam, the scrotumtightening Steam.

Update: 15 Feb, 2016 @ 8:41am

Version 0.6.3:

Fixed a bug that would prevent romances from kicking off correctly if you were pursuing two at the same time. Big thanks to @johnny.killstring for the report!

Updated several maps with a few new props and FX from the Hong Kong Coda. Neon!

Made many minor map modifications.

Music now loops during SUPER TUESDAY.

Update: 14 Feb, 2016 @ 12:21am

If you want a picture of the future, imagine Steam stamping on a human face—for ever.
