Final Encounter VER 1.4 - On Blade's Edge

A new Attacker graces the battlefield with their presence, as the deadly and beautiful **Asagi the Samurai** draws her blade! As rumours arise of rumblings in the east, and whispers in the courts of Arietta's machinations grow, a new hero joins the party to dispense justice!

New Character! Asagi the Samurai
Asagi the Samurai arrives to the battle with plenty of blades to go about; so many she can scarce decide which to use! Asagi is a low-complexity Attacker who fights exclusively with melee attacks. Having a variety of powerful tools to increase her damage dealt, as well as some powerful counterattacks to catch her foes off guard!

New Enemy? Arietta the Puppetmaster?
Arietta has been practicing her art, and honing her skills, and is now more prepared than ever! Arietta has been given a significant difficulty boost to make her a much more challenging encounter! Perhaps this is Arietta's true power, or perhaps this is simply the result of certain party members ~~Emli~~ exaggerating their battle at the afterparty?

Arietta's original fight is still included in the game as a recommended 'introductory' fight for new players, should you still wish to practice against her, but we hope you'll all enjoy this new more challenging take on a now-familiar face! For those of you familiar with Arietta already, you should find a few new tricks, as well as a few familiar ones given a fresh spin!

In addition, we've given the mod just a small graphical improvement, removing the rather ugly metal trays in favour of some cleaner assets that also help make it clearer which characters are which roles - as well as putting role icons on the familiars' boxes so you know which does what!

Update: 25. Jun. 2024 um 17:30

[June 26th update]

Just pushed out a small update to fix some issues!

Artorius
Dramatic Flourish - Fixed language to clarify that playing actions as Casts is an optional effect.

Matilda
Brutal Cleave - Reworded the first part of the effect to make it clearer that discarding is not reliant on cleansing an affliction.

Afflictions
Unconscious - Effect changed for clarity. Now instead of restoring HP and drawing upon each cleanse, you now draw a fresh hand and fill your HP when you cleanse your last unconscious card. Note that the Rulebook does not reflect this change yet. The card text is correct.

Osvald
Fixed Azoth's missing Minion card; it was accidentally replaced with a second copy of Osvald's Phase 2 card!

Thellis
Aerial Blast and Howling Gale now have text telling you to remove Notis and Euris from the board at the end of their Ongoing 3 effect.
Feather Squall effect has been fixed to actually include Target Markers; the previous version accidentally

Other minor spelling and formatting errors have been fixed. In addition, the buttons that spawn player and boss boards have been tweaked in order to make it more obvious that they are actually buttons and not just nametags.

Quick update to fix a mistake! Osvald's Phase 2 and Phase 3 were accidentally swapped, this has now been fixed!

Update: 7. Jun. 2024 um 19:31

A new Attacker joins the crew in their battles, as Laguna the Tidesworn has arrived! With his powerful trident Trimare in hand, he can strike down foes from a distance and turn the tide of battle in more ways than one! Such timing will be important with the looming new threat on the horizon of the Sinister Scholar, Ozvald! Can you brave the horrors of the madman's laboratory to put an end to his wicked ambitions?

[New Character! Laguna the Tidesworn]
Laguna the Tidesworn joins the party to revel in the chaos of the battlefield! Laguna is a Medium-Complexity Attacker who can deal huge amounts of damage by carefully weaving his trident Trimare between his summoned whorls. Able to strike effectively at long range and manipulate Trimare to pierce multiple foes at once, a battle with Laguna is always certain to be a memorable dance indeed!

[New Boss! Sinister Scholar - Osvald]
After being expelled from the Royal College of Alchemy and Magic for experiments on living subjects deemed twisted and inhuman, the brilliant alchemist Osvald retreated into his hidden laboratory. Genius is not so easily quashed, and the ambitions of a madman are seldom ended by any means short of fire and steel.

[Boss Changes]
Colossus:Colossus: , Thellis :Thellis: and Maltheus :Maltheus: have been made just a little bit larger to give them a more commanding presence on the battlefield, and also to make them a bit more in-scale with the smaller bosses. In addition, each boss now has a larger, unique HP indicator that uses their individual icons to make it a bit easier to tell whose HP is represented by what in situations where there are lots of minions about!

[Mitsuki]
Much like Altheia in the past, it turned out that Mitsuki's Collaboration card had some unexpected consequences when it came to dealing with a certain Crystalline Construct... To future-proof it and prevent such shenanigans, it now has a hard cap on how many cards you can draw at time from it of 4.... Of course, you can still potentially draw a lot if everyone in the party has AoEs to burn!

[Maltheus]
Maltheus' Possession attack in Phase 2 has been altered to account for the fact that it simply did not work if the Threat was a familiar. We've added a special case text for it where it will just deal 5 damage to the Threat in that case. It's pretty strong, but, if the Threat is a famiilar, they can take it - they'll come back in a couple turns anyway!

Several other typos and formatting errors have also been addressed!

Update: 12. Mai 2024 um 12:03

A new update has just shipped! In addition to several formatting and spelling fixes, the following major changes have been made:

[Ky'ni]
Ky'ni has been overperforming, so we have made some small but hopefully significant changes to his deck in order to pull him back more in line with where we want our Attackers' damage per round to be. This includes changing many of his cards so that the cards that deal higher damage at base aren't also the ones that grant Prey Markers, hopefully creating more situations where players have to weigh up between a card that does more damage now, and a card that does more damage later when they can use their Prey up for that burst.
In addition, the Hunt effects of Severing Blade and Stalking Blade have been altered to make the more enticing. Previously we noticed these effects did not see much use, as they were always worse than using the Prey for the burst effect.

[Emli]
Emli has had two small but significant changes to some of her loot cards.
Mildly Cursed Magic Gem now deals Fixed damage to both Emli and the enemies being damaged by it, while Pre-Lit Bomb now deals regular damage to both Emli and the enemies being damaged by it.
The interaction of Emli increasing the damage she dealt to herself while receiving a Damage Boost is a funny interaction and felt very on-brand for her, but since the Pre-Lit Bomb was Fixed damage, it created a situation where she would damage herself more for no effect. Now she can potentially do some extra big booms - as long as she's prepared to face the consequences!

[Roisin]
We're still keeping an eye on Roisin's performance, but at the moment we're holding off on making any big changes; instead just a few small fixes to errors.
Calm Aroma and Blooming Blessing now bloom the Glitter Daisy, while Warm Soil and Nectar Rain now bloom the Star Lily. This was actually always the intention, but erroneously the Star Lily was being bloomed by Blooming Blessing and Nectar Rain.
In addition, her Playmat has been updated so that the effects of her flowers on her playmat are now in the correct order, and the playmat description for the Ember Blossom has been fixed to correctly display that it deals 2 damage to one enemy, instead of 1.

[Agate]
Agate's been practicing looking scary in the mirror; none of his Threat cards said he was Threatening, so this has been fixed!

[Maltheus]
Maltheus' Skeleton 1 and Skeleton 4 have traded colours to make managing them easier - they now actually correctly match the player seat numbers/colours!

[Thellis]
Thellis' Tempest Tiles have been updated to clarify that they KO any player in them, as opposed to just players that enter them; this is mostly just to remove confusion between the interaction between Tempest Tiles and Emli's Homemade Stilts. Now, rules as written, if Emli is in a Tempest tile, she will be KO'd at the start of the players' turn when the effect of the Homemade Stilts expires.
In addition, Feather Squall has had its effect changed. Instead of damaging players by their Player Numbers, it is now a randomly-targeted buster combined with a raidwide, followed by a spread mechanic.

Final Encounter VER 1.2 - Seeds of Change

A new Healer strolls daintily into the battlefield, as **Roisin the Bloomkeeper** arrives! While Siobhan's sister might not share her sibling's prospensity for mud and frogs, she more than makes up for it to her dedication her delicate blooms!

New Character! Roisin the Bloomkeeper
Roisin is a low-complexity Healer who grows magical flowers to assist her allies and harm her enemies. By cultivating some beautiful blooms, she's able to offer support to her fellow Heroes from anywhere on the battlefield, ensuring that the party always comes out of a battle smelling of roses!

Update: 29. Apr. 2024 um 13:34

Updated the rulebook to fix some typos, as well as add proper rules explanations for effects that were previously stated on cards only, such as Ky'Ni's Hunter's Snare.

Added Tooltips to several assets related to non-card mechanics, such as Fulgur counters and Poison counters.
