Update: 21 Dec, 2024 @ 5:57am

Update: 20 Dec, 2024 @ 5:38pm

Industry income reverted to 150/225/300
Peasant Economy reverted to -10% peasant upkeep
Ports generate 150/300/450 income up from 100/200/400
Alberic gives +50% port income, down from +80%
Diary Pastures are now FARMING economy, instead of Settlement income. Going over the peasant limit effects them. Mills and Farming techs improve them.

Industry techs give 2% or 3% income from industry, instead of 5%
Wardens give +4 Royal Men-at-Arms up, up from +2
Royarch's Command gives -10% upkeep to Men-at-Arms
Feudalism gives -2% upkeep to peasants instead of -5%
Economic investment gives 25% settlement income up from 5% (this effects settlement chain buildings and Almshouses, not ALL buildings. Many players are understandably confused by what this tech does...)
Almshouses (technology) no longer gives 5% settlement income

Going over the peasant limit now gradually reduces upkeep reduction from -10% for peasants, down to -0% (at 50% peasant capacity over the limit) in intervals of -1% per 5% over the peasant limit. In other words, instead of two brackets of -5% there's 10 brackets of -1%, making the upkeep decline much more gradual.

Developer thoughts:
These change makes Farming and Dairy Pastures the ideal economy for most players, as it generates a LOT more income. Going over the peasantry limit is more harmful to those players, thus making the difference between Industry and farms more pronounced.

Industries role is clearer. Its no longer dependant on techs that increase its income to be good, but instead on upkeep reduction techs for peasants, such as the new -10% for Men-at-Arms that has been added to Royarch's command.

Ports are now stronger, making port cities a lot more lucrative and desirable than before, especially the minor settlements.

Barracks have new icons

Update: 13 Dec, 2024 @ 9:05am

Knight upkeep reverted to their normal values (this is a big buff, as I had increased their upkeep by about 10-20%)
Peasant economy gives -15% upkeep up from -10%

Going over the peasants economy limit continues to give -10% upkeep to peasants, until you cross a threshold. The amount is then reduced to -5%. After crossing a second threshold (at about 40% over the peasant limit), peasants have no upkeep reduction from the peasants economy, like vanilla.

Income from Farms, Industry and Dairy is reduced.

Removed Fay Enchantress lord effect that reduces upkeep for non-knight melee units in her army by -10%

Developer thoughts:

The overall move strength away from the Bretonnian economy, and reduce the harshness of crossing the Peasants economy limit. Balance between Farms and industry should be closer and the balance between knights and peasants should be closer also.
