How to restore the original audio responses to YOu Don't Know Jack 1
By MechanicalMan
The rereleases of this game, along with the Steam version, were censored to remove one of the best parts of the game. Let's fix that, shall we?

A simple guide to patching the game.
When this game came out originally, typing in a certain profane response at a gibberish question caused the host to swear back at you in turn, in very profane terms.

It seems they censored the original responses in this release, however, since it uses the XL audio which has been cleaned up for the children. Lucky for us, I have the original disc, and the files work. Just replace gibber.srf in your game files with the version here: https://mega.nz/#!7o9W2KLJ!u-EYmsc7dGh2kmRewLHi1aXaWbyWOJJmooQ9vCfgGGU

Steam has been censoring links, so if that doesn't work, go to tinyurl dot com / ydkjpatch.

Triggering these reactions were the first time I've ever typed out those words. I recall him getting more upset the more I did it.

I should point out when using the Original CD in Win3.1 via DOSBox when Installing the game, it places the 16-Bit Executable Data while installing on 32-Bit Operating Systems, they use the 32-Bit Executable Data, so if you have a Virtual Machine or older computer, you could use the 32-Bit Executable Data for YDKJ on Modern Systems. This applies to Vol. 1 (Original & XL), Vol. 2, Vol. 3, Movies, Sports, Television

Running Offline and Louder Faster Funnier without the CD is possible. After installing the game, you just need to copy the CD Game Data into the directories

I mean, it really should be a simple file swap, most of the code for things like the Berkeley Systems logo were just dummied out. Offline and Louder Faster Funnier aren't on steam so you'd need the cds regardless.

It possible to do a full installation of the CD-ROM version of Vol 1, Vol 2, Vol 3, Offline, Louder Faster Funnier. Sports, Movies, Television & maybe HeadRush

Yep, the files are easily found though. Are the color bars missing? I never noticed. Might have to re-add them, not sure what file they are stored in.;
