Description

If you like the mod, please favorite and thumbs up! It helps a lot!

This mod is an ongoing project that will hope to add roughly 10-20 starts. After that, I'll break it into a second mod as to not force people to have 50 some starts to sift through to find their favorites. I'd love to get as much feedback as possible, if anyone doesn't want to make their own start, and would have me do it I'd love the practice and I'll incoperate the idea, assuming it's possible within the project itself. I tend to make these starts a bit easier than vanilla starts, as if you wanted to have a super hard start, you'd pick one of those.

This mod is (as far as I know) 100% compatable with every mod, and should remain compatable unless the devs change the way the new game menus work.

Description of each start:

Adventurer with a Bonehound
Not all adventures are filled with treasure and flesh. Some few are full of defeat and misery. Your story is one of those, but the details of it are for you to know only until you choose otherwise. All that is known of you is that you've done something really bad, or been part of something "evil," for lack of a better term so a large bounty has been placed on your head. In your travels you have domesticated a exceedingly rare Bonehound, which is basically a "better" Bonedog.

Bandit King (Dust)
The time you have spent with the Dust Bandits, is more.. enjoyable than anticipated. But the time has come for you to break off and form your own band of bandits. For you, are born to lead, born to be a king (or queen) of all the bandits in the known world. Let the world fear your slave armies.

Bandit Retirement (Dust)
You start with two people, One of them, considered "your" character, and has a backpack in addition to having decent armor at standard quality. Your companion is a default unedited Dust Bandit. You will also start with the same tech as the freedom seekers have. Faction relation a positive 50 with the Dust Bandits.

Banished
"You are a banished prince, cast off away from the Western Hive. While you will not be attacked by them, you are not welcome. You have demanded that a few of your loyal subjects come with you. Your wish was granted." A small group of Hivers banished from the Western Hive. One prince, two soldiers, two builders with enough materials to start a base.

Bounty Hunter
You start alone in Mongrel, with 1000 caps and have a bit of armor. Good enough to play as a "lone wolf" character and not die instantly when leaving Mongrel due to Fogmen. But you will lose if you are out numbered.

Clan of Nobody
As someone requested, 30 nobodies in one start. Nothing more. It's exact same as Nobody start besides the amount of nobodies.

Craftsman
A lone craftsman trying to make their way in this godforsaken world. Your home was across one of the many great oceans, but your parents were caputured and brought here as slaves.

Deprived
Brutally hard, you start with actually nothing and with severe injuries. Only for the bravest of souls.

Empire of Nobody
I dont know if this will even work tbh, 256 nobodies. Same as above. If you have problems with this, please

Hated (Everyone has -50 relations with you) - *WIP*
You're something of a pirate, your name is known across this realm and you've set out to form a new empire among these weak people. While you have no friends anywhere to be found, you will force them to respect you or they will die by your sword.

Holy Nation Paladin
This is a lone start in Stack with default Holy Paladin gear. Relations are a clone of the canon default relations. You start with 1250 cats. Pretty straight forward. Similar skill level to the default holy paladins.

Liar's Curse -- CHEAT
You are cursed with amnesia, and you awake to a large sum of materials and find yourself able to do things you had no clue you could do. You're powerful. Also, for some reason everyone seems to be neutral to you.

Liar's Struggle - CHEAT
You've been struck by a beam whilst captaining your previous vessel. You've awoken on land, no where near anyone you knew or anything you're familiar with. Time has passed and you've created a life on this land, and now it is time for you to take what should be yours. Form your own empire as you had always dreamed.

*This is a form of Liar's Curse, but still requires you to unlock tech yourself through whatever means you deem fit.*

Monk
A humble farmer, who in their free time practices martial arts. While you are not a master, not yet, you are a force to be reckoned with. You've led a peaceful life, but things have changed recently causing you to travel, forcing you out of your home. There is no going back, you've gathered what you could before being rudely evicted.

Noble
Born into a life of luxury you grew tired of the elegance of every waking moment. At an uncertain moment something triggered in your head and made you decide to leave the safety of your palace for a real adventure. You start with noob, but slightly above default combats and a beefy bag of gold.

Professor (wip)
A professor from a university in a distant land, exploring and adventuring before your time is over. Life has left you wanting and thus you risk your life to see the world and do and be part of something that is bigger than yourself.

Rich Adventurer:
You found your wealth in a lottery then shortly after sold all your belongings including your home and other amenities for you to embark on your adventure. You dont have much besides your wealth, but you are fairly neutral with the factions.

Silvertongue
This is my take on an rogue like character, you start with neutral relations with most "ninjas" positive 60 with Black Dragon and -60 with White Eyebrow. Starting with the same tech as Freedom seekers plus Storage Box research to store all your stolen goods. You will also start with a semi random bounty anywhere from 5000-15000 depending on your roll. Though there is a small chance to have no bounty. It is presumed that you got this bounty awhile back when your character was known as "Silvertongue"

The Cult of Tranqulity
A mix of races that shun the violence of the world and now seek to build a refuge of their own safe from the violence they have seen tear their families and loved ones from the world. Finding refuge on the outskirts of the Great Desert the travelers pay tribute to the world and set off into the unknown searching for a better life to live. You will start with anywhere between 16 members, to 68 of various races. Will you be able to control the problems that would surely come with so many people?

The Hungover Ninja (Restored content)
This is content that has been very slightly modified from the original game. It was then removed by a later update. I've restored it, I did not create this one. Simply brought it back.

The Slave
This is really "The Slaves" start, minus the other starting person that is there to help you. You are totally alone in your escape attempts. You can't just leave one behind and have the other escape. You must actually escape or simply die. As per usual, get in your cage.

The Slaver
You're a slaver, known for ruthlessness and overworking your cattle. Treat these ones right and you'll be able to forge an

Again, I love feedback! Let me know how I did! Are my starts total trash? Should I find a new hobby? Are they super unbalanced? Let me know in the comments! Also, when I first started making this mod my name was "glassofwater" hence why I use the "gow" tag throughout my mod.

Looking into it again, the Paladins I believe are actually supposed to be hostile to Skeletons. They hate all non humans. You can with time fix it, but the start is meant to be that you have always been a part of their nation.

Not that I'm aware of. I havent touched this project for some time now. You could try rerolling the start location as most of the various starts have multiple starts, but the game has likely changed so much. If there's enough desire maybe I could spend a few hours fixing up some of these things especially if people provide me solutions.

the paladin start had a janky ai that forces me to attack skeletons on sight, any fix or patch there?

It shouldn't be an issue with the mod as I believe it only adds a fat stack of cash and some slightly randomized gear. I haven't played this game in some time unfortunately, but I'm so glad people are still enjoying it.

How is the game now?

So I started with the Rich Adventurer start, and the game crashes every time I open my inventory. Other than that, it works fine, but anything that would open my inventory crashes the game. Idk if it's the specific start, or if it's an issue with the mod

Bro that's actually hilarious.

Empire of nobody is essentially asking for characters to die of starvation, there is very few ways you can realistically start with 256 characters in Bast with no food or money, and hope to feed them all somehow. Hell, I don't think the nearby taverns have enough food in it to feed 256 individuals daily even if you had acquired it somehow.

Not that them starving to death is a problem... its just a different way to do things. My plan is to essentially have a band of starving bandits, and the ones that survive long enough for me to obtain all the money I could need will be the ones important enough to name.

Bandit Retirement is a interesting start. Probably the easiest place to train up your thievery skills with a bit patience but still pretty fast. Your friends won't directly follow you so you can sneak and assassinate and steal occassionaly dropped items in the prison area safely :)

I'm getting this same issue btw

Yeah idk, would need more information to figure it out but unless there's something that ties directly to how slaves work in your modlist idk. If you figure it out lmk I'll update mod for that.
