Gotta say, it's improved drastically predominantly through the balancing of the playable animals; little, trolling shits are less able to exploit animals on, say, progression, and the game's thus better to play. Plus, servers decide their own progression 'times'; no more ridiculouly long times waiting in a bush. Now, you get to something okay in reasonable time, and you got to get surviving quick.
Realism servers, especially, are great to play on.
