Description of files

Use these files for the following sections of this guide.

OfficeData.sav

Your Office save file. This is where all the current progress for your office is saved. This includes all messes such as blood, debris, crates, bins, and all other non-trophy items.

You will have to back this file up manually.

Save0.sav - Save#.sav

These are individual save files you created manually while playing the game. You can delete these in game by clicking the 'X' next to them, or simply remove them from your folder.

TrophyDataCollective.sav

This contains all your trophies or collectibles you've brought back to your office.

These get backed up automatically and restoring them is described in another section of this guide.

Editing Save Files

Please make a backup of these files before continuing to edit them.

Locate your save file(s)

F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Viscera\Saves\

Open the save file in your preferred editor

Notepad is fine.

Search for a string that matches the word "PassCode"

You should get several results, for example:

NOTE: For your Office the codes are auto generated which means they are different each time. Using my passcode in your office will not work!

Write your codes down, launch up your game and use them on the appropriate keypads

For the office there are three doors as described below:

Keypad_3 is immediately to your right after you spawn
Keypad_5 is on the opposite side hidden behind the lockers / cabinets
Keypad_0 is after unlocking Keypad_3, next to the What-A-Load-Machine

You should see the screen flicker on the keypads when you punched the right numbers.

If it doesn't work that probably means the save data may have been reset. You can try to restore a backup of the file (if you created one), or just simply try again.

NOTE: This method works on all maps as well such as Unearthly Excavation.
You will have to create a save for that map and follow the same steps as above.

Office Keypads

Door Keypads 3 & 4

Door Keypads 5 & 1

Door Keypads 0 & 2

NOTE: there's a keypad on both sides of each door but you only have to worry about one.

Restoring Backups

Navigate to your Backups folder

F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Viscera\Saves\Backups

The game automatically creates periodic backups of your Trophies.
For everything else skip to the next section.

Find the backup you want to restore

They are saved with the date and time appended to the file name.
TrophyDataCollective_20170506_154755.sav is 05/06/2017 3:47 PM

Compare with the Windows Date Modified column.

Copy the backup file and paste it in the previous folder

F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Viscera\Saves\

Delete or rename the original save file

TrophyDataCollective.sav
Rename to...
TrophyDataCollective.sav - Original

Rename the backup file that you pasted

TrophyDataCollective_20170506_154755.sav
Rename to...
TrophyDataCollective.sav

Start up your game and go to your Office!

All your trophies will return to their previous locations.

Removing intro videos

Locate your game installation directory

F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Viscera\

Navigate to ...\UDKGame\Movies

F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Viscera\UDKGame\Movies

Delete or rename the following files

rslogo.bik
UE3_logo.bik

[ADVANCED] Notes on individual lines of code

The keypads have several states described below

"InteractiveState":0 is unlocked "InteractiveState":1 is open "InteractiveState":2 is locked

Simply modifying these values does not work. It will reset your officedata back to default.
I'm assuming there's another value somewhere else that's required. More research needed.

You can remove objects (such as debris and blood) from the save file.

Although I haven't completely figured out how exactly the structure of the file works.
So far I was only successful in removing footprints by deleting the following lines of code:

Great, now I have a file that ends in "Original" that no matter how many times I delete it, it always comes back

OMG!!! I cannot thank you enough for this. After a long break I decided to get back on track and opened up the game. I already found one egg but I wanted to get the rest. So I got two eggs without doing any work and BAM! All items are lost. I freaked out bcs I got all the Janitor Bob things in my office. I will never get fired ever again. THANK YOU!!

Okay this saved me, I randomly logged in and it was all cleared and my office was empty and I freaked because I didn't know what happened, so I googled and found this and it saved me. I followed the steps and logged back in and all my collected items were back, I actually sighed in relief, thank you so much. You are a legend <3
