1. Converting your songs to OGG
You can use the following site here[audio.online-convert.com], or anything similar, such as Audacity or Wavepad. Sampling rate, audio bit rate, and audio channels do not matter, as long as the file is an OGG. Currently, Rivals doesn't support custom loop points, it simply plays your song and repeats it.

You might be asking how you get the songs in the first place.

I recommend the legal way.
2. Replacing the songs / Song list
Be sure to back up your files! And your custom songs, Dan sometimes likes getting rid of them every update.

The files can be found at C:>Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Rivals of Aether, or by right-clicking on Rivals of Aether in your library, clicking on properties, Local Files, then Browse Local Files.



Replacing a song is as easy as renaming it to the specified stage you want it on. For example, if I wanted to replace the music on the Air Armada, I'd replace music_air_loop with my own song. Replacing the first loop is all that's required to keep your custom song repeating.

Also, it'll be simpler to imagine that each "loop" as another custom song you can add.

UPDATE: Rivals now allows multiple songs on the same stage by replacing the other loops. (Thanks Slime!)
Replacing two loops causes each song to have a 50% chance of playing, replacing three gives a 33% chance, and replacing four gives each a 25%.



As for which song goes to what:

music_abyss_ev1_loop = Abyss Mode: VS Gatekeeper's Minions
music_abyss_ev2_loop = Abyss Mode: VS Gatekeeper

3. Custom Stage Songs
Didn't expect Dan to add multiple songs per custom stage, but the madman did it. Well done.

You might want to keep all of this in mind. This guide was originally made for replacing the original songs, but the manual might as well be included here as well.[www.rivalsofaether.com]

If you want to find your stages, navigate to AppData>Local>RivalsofAether>stages. You should find any stage you made so far.

If there isn't a "sounds" folder, create one. Then, go inside it and add your songs. Namewise, it goes like this:

music_loop
music_loop2
music_loop3
music_loop4

Your songs will be randomly selected to play when your custom stage is selected, just like with the originals stages.
That's it!
Nothing more to it! It's nothing more than replacing and renaming files.

Is it possible to add intros to custom songs for the default stages? I've tried doing it the same way I do for custom stages, but it doesn't work.
