Rainfall & Temperature: Which biomes to expect?
由 RustyTheRed 發表
Want to generate a planet with a particular set of biomes? Sick of fiddling with the rainfall & temperature sliders? I wasted 5 hours of my life so you don't have to!

147 planets later..

Observations made in version 0.16.1393 on February 10th 2017. Planet generation may be subject to change in upcoming versions.

@GotWeenies
The biome slider is only part of it. The planet has poles. A Temperate forest on the very bottom of the planet is potentially colder than a boreal forest near the equator.
You can see as you select starting locations farther and farther from the equator how the average temperature drops.
If you want snow, pick a Boreal Forest or Tundra nearer the bottom or the very top of the globe.

if your temps low and rains high its just a desert.

@AlphaAshisAWeenie - i play mostly in boreal forest or tundra, and still have snow in winter. Sure cold deserts may have less snowfall, that's sure. Also ice-sheat is dryer i think, still snow by moment to.
Make sure it's not an other biome mod affecting your weather.

@AlphaAshIsAWeenie Haven't played in while, but is it because cold biomes are largely dry / cold biomes with high rainfall are relatively rare? The 'Rainfall' slider effects what biomes spawn where, but I don't think it effects the rainfall of individual planetary tiles.

Maybe you can riddle me this. I can never experince snow unless playing Temperate Forest. Why the hell is snow fall so hard to come by and why does the game choose to make it rainbow when its 17 degrees outside instead of making it snow? I want a massivly snowy world like Snow piercer and I cant get it. Even when rainfall is way up and temp is way down still very little snow!

Good.

@RustyTheRed Yeah I'd say 147 planets is a good data range for any adaptations
