FAQ:
1. What makes this different to other Lord of the Ring Maps?
The short answer? Geographic accuracy. The map was painstakingly drawn using various maps as references and compared in order to make it as accurate as possible. The final result, I hope, speaks for itself in that regard. I've also researched descriptions on depictions of regions in order to hopefully capture a taste of JRR Tolkien's writings, trying to ensure that the map does the Legendarium justice. Untold hours went into the geography alone in order to make this the most accurate depiction of Middle-Earth in the Age of Empires 2 engine that it possibly could be.

I've also kept the staple traits of other, popular Middle Earth maps - a ring quest, custom named heroes and cities, as well as minor quests for key characters and the like. In addition to this, every hero and every city has a death announcement trigger - if someone dies or a city falls anywhere in Middle-Earth, you'll hear about it. And there may even be unforseen repurcussions for losing key locations or characters.

2. Can I run and play this smoothly?
Keep in mind, this is a LudiKRIS sized map with 8 players, tons of resources and a fair bit of fine detail. I've tried to avoid excessive ornamention where I can, but the object count for this map is still pretty considerable before each player even starts building up their armies. Ideally you'll want a fairly high-spec rig in order to play this properly, because there's a lot for your PC to manage when it comes to this map.

3. Can I try out the other player colours in single player mode? (IE can I play elves in SP?)
Sure can! I've made sure to use only MP-friendly triggers and everythign works properly if you change player colour. That said, just be aware that the AI is fairly stupid in SP, and obviously they won't work towards the objectives in the same way a human player would - but if you want to just mess around and lfiddle with strats, build orders etc. then you're completely able to. :)

4. Does every player have the same amount of quests and upgrades and bonus stuff?
Unfortunately not. Yellow and Orange in particular are currently lacking in that department for now. I'm still working on larger quests for them, though, so hopefully that'll be added to future versions. Stay tuned!

5. I can't build near Mount Doom? What the hell?
Sorry, Mordor - if you thought you'd be able to screw with the Ring quest by plopping four castles down next to the entrance to Mount Doom, then think again. The surrounding area is unbuildable on purpose in order to prevent Mordor from being cheesy about the Ring quest and making it impossible to complete by blocking the region with all sorts of fortifications. Nice try.

6. A certain trigger isn't working properly!
Please, PLEASE leave a comment about this. There are almost 190 triggers and well over a thousand conditions and effects so far...and counting. I've tried to bugtest as much as possible, but there's a good chance I've missed a few, so PLEASE let me know below what's happening and what needs to be fixed so I can update the map.

7. I have a balance suggestion about-
Excellent! I like hearing about this stuff, especially as this is my first major project, so if you think a hero or unit, building or upgrade is OP, UP or whatever, please leave a comment below.

8. Why do I need all of the expansions to play this mod? Can't you cut some of the content to increase compatability?
Ultimately, the map requires expansion content because there are parts from those expansions that are important to the design. I make no apologies for this, as the map is intended to be uncompromising in terms of geographic accuracy, and I wanted to use every resource available in order to capure Middle-Earth as best as I possibly could, and that involves utilizing resources from all of the expansions available. Basically, I want my toolkit to be as large asp ossible in order to be as accurate as possible.

I understand this might be frustrating for some, but ultimately I feel that the map wouldn't be the best it possibly could be without the required expansion content, and I think it's important to support the developer's work in introducing new content via expansions, which helps breathe new life into such an old community. I hope that clarifies the issue!

great map, having a lot of fun with it, is there any reason that the destruction of the ring triggers at 3:20 hours or is it made on purpose?
