Butovo Village, Russia, July 4th, 1943

Following the crushing defeat at Stalingrad, German divisions are under-strength by over 470,000 men. Any hopes for the Wehrmacht to regain the strategic initiative on the Eastern front, and to counterattack the Soviet salient now pressing out of Kursk, would be to encircle and destroy the five Soviet armies stationed there by relying primarily on Panzer divisions.

Precipitating what would become the largest tank battle in history, as well as a major turning point in the war, German infantry forces begin the Battle of Kursk by attacking the small village of Butovo, aiming to seize its high ground for artillery observation posts necessary to support the main assault.

Supported by artillery, it's up to the staunch Soviet defenders to hold the five objectives in Butovo and prevent the Germans from capturing its strategic location. For the Germans, this is their last chance to turn the war around. If the Germans are to have any hope of successfully encircling Kursk, this village must be taken at all costs.


This is the last known version of Butovo (Butovo-B14), as the outdated workshop version (Butovo-B10) was discontinued from updates due to BOH-Rekrut having gone inactive. And since Rekrut has gone inactive, don't expect much as far as support goes.
