This trick is very simple and easy to use. All you need to do is obtain the Gemjug dance, which is obtained in the level "Mermaid Falls" by buying it from the snake women in the jar.

Once you're back at Scuttle town square, go into the bathhouse and transform into the Jar. If you are in the water, you will have unlimited magic and therefore can shake out as many gems as you want.

For even quicker results, buy the attraction spells at the shop so the gems will come to you, making it easier as you wont need to get out of your transformation near as often.

Even better, get the Super Pike Ball, Magic Bracelet, and Attraction. go to the second part of Main Street, about mid level at the point of the "Kill 30 enemies" for the salted caramel. stand between two windows and keep spike ball on.

Spawn rate and Mana drops seem to be enough to keep this going. Have done this a few times and has been a successful AFK gem grind.

Just do this method and save in incriments. Everytime you get a relic, (or something from the shop) Save at the old creepy man in the corner.

Be careful if you go full gemjug dance in bath room.
You will crash the game. I crashed it twice.
Do it near of green old man, the old save guy.

Transform all magic to gem, save the game, go to bath, repeat.
That`s the safest way to farm gem without crashing.

My method of collecting Gems was having the harpy form and going through Tassel Town a few times. In the first area of Tassel Town, there are various platforms in the sky with jars on them spread out. The towering insect mobs in Tassel Town can be killed in one shot with the Elephant's attack, and then hitting the body segments flying around can produce additional gems. During such a run, I advise turning off the Green Stone and Red Stone so you don't accidentally convert gems to unnecessary magic potions and health.

According to a developer response in the discussion forum, this Gemjug tactic is intentional, but there are faster methods available.
