Dead By Daylight: Survivor Tips
By Landeyx
Hey everyone! My name is Landeyx, I've watched alot of videos of Dead By Daylight before I've bought it. In-game I see alot of people do stuff wrong in my opinion, I also see people do stuff they could do better. I only have 20 hours on my name (meanwhile more than 200), but don't prejudice me for that. Today, I will give you some tips for surviving in Dead By Daylight! (Note: due to me not playing dbd for a while, tips against the doctor, the cannibal, freddy or the pig won't come, but maybe they will... soon.)

List Of Tips For Surviving Every Killer
-Always try to identify the killer! If you see closed beartraps or open beartraps on the ground, then it's probably The Trapper.
-The hatch spawns somewhere RANDOM on the map, and spawns when 4 generators are fixed for 3 survivors left, 3 for 2 survivors left and 2 for 1. When there's 1 survivor left it is opened, closed hatches can be opened with skeleton keys
-If you hear bells and the whispering of the wind, then it's The Wraith.
-If you hear a chainsaw, then it's The Hillbilly.
-If you hear screaming, then it's The Nurse.
-If you don't hear a heartbeat immediately, then it could be Michael. Await the special music to play though.
-If you hear a burbling sound, then it's The Wraith or The Hag.
-Surviving together is key, save your teammates and they will save you.
-Get the generators done!
-When you finish a generator DON'T RUN AWAY
-When a generator explodes DON'T RUN AWAY, instead WALK and HIDE somewhere. Look if the killer comes, if not then continue working on it.
-When saving someone off a hook or getting saved off a hook DON'T RUN AWAY
-I'll keep it short for the "Don't run away", running should only be done when the killer sees you. If you didn't know yet, when you run you leave visible orange scratches on walls, ceilings and the floor. This makes it easy for the killer to track you
-The killer is faster than you, outsmart him
-Don't run in circles, he's faster and WILL catch up eventually
-Healing your teammates is important, try to do it near the spot from where you saved them out of the killer's sight
-Don't go too much in the open
-When you hear a heartbeat, don't panic too much. However, try and reach a hiding spot WITHOUT RUNNING
-Running should only be done when you don't hear a hearbeat
-When the killer chases you and you don't hear a heartbeat anymore, stop running and hide
-When he chased you and is searching for you, turn back and stay to the sides and run PAST him, most killers don't think about you being behind them
-Pallets can stun the killer, use them
-Wiggle! Wiggle! Wiggle!
-When on a hook, do NOT attempt an escape, do attempt when you're almost at the point of struggling or the last survivor left.
-SMASH THE SPACEBAR!
-Teammates are important, but don't always go immediately for them
-When you hear heartbeats, try and see where the killer is so he doesn't jump you from behind
-When a killer camps you, keep struggling! Don't get your teammates in danger though.
-You can vault over certain obstacles, as can the killer, but slower
-When sprinting you glide faster over pallets
-Try and open the exit gates ASAP when they appear, then try and lead the other survivors there or await someone dieing
-Do not panic!
-NEVER GIVE UP! When all your teammates are dead and you still need to fix all the generators, then don't give up! Stay out of sight and get two generators done! Then try and find the hatch!
-Watch out for the crows! They give away noise if the killer has a perk for it!
-Do not stay at same spot for long time, crows will fly over your head and let the killer know you are there
-When you find a generator, don't fix it immediately unless you've got the premonition perk and you are sure that the killer isn't patrolling the generators
-You fixing a generator gives away alot of noise, if you hear a heartbeat, walk away from the generator and hide somewhere. Make sure to keep your eyes on the killer at all times since he can check the surroundings
-Some killers tend to do as if they go away, and then come back to the generator they just checked. It's best to wait for a while or move on to another generator
-Watch out for skillchecks!
-Chests tend to spawn in the same place: around the main building(s) and in the basement which is located in one of the main buildings.
-Don't be scared to go in the basement!
-Pallets are your friends, except when you have a nurse chasing you
-Try and confuse the killer, stop running when you don't hear the heartbeat anymore and walk way so he can't track you
-If you see that this killer is pretty ♥♥♥♥ in getting you, try and let him follow you so you can stall time
-Jumping from heights slows you down, avoid it!
-Killers can hear you hiding in a closet, dropping a pallet, jumping over obstacles... this makes it easy for them to track you
-Don't go and rescue your friend immediately after the killer has hooked them (except for when the trapper is placing a trap)
-When a killer is carrying somebody, try and blind them, causing them to drop the survivor!
-Same for dropping pallets on the killer
-Don't save your friend when you're hurt
-Healing up asap is your job, find other survivors or a medkit in a chest
-You can also use Claudette's perk or bring a medkit with you
-Killers rarely check around powered generators
-If enough generators are powered for the hatch to spawn, try and find it asap!
-As last survivor, the killer tends to camp the hatch
-When wiggling of a killer's shoulder, run away behind them! Don't walk though, since they can hear you crying.

(List can be updated when I have more tips in mind or when you comment some below!)

Tips For Surviving The Trapper
-Look out for traps on the ground!
-When a teammate gets hooked, trappers usually put traps under them or near them, always disable them first before saving your teammate!
-Trappers tend to place traps near generators, windows, pallets and in the grass, try to avoid using those and look out for the traps near generators
-If you're right next to a hooked person, and the trapper is setting his trap, free the survivor since he can't attack you and the trap isn't active yet

(If you have any more tips for surviving the trapper, comment them down below!)

Tips For Surviving The Wraith
-The Wraith spawns INVISIBLE
-You can kinda make out The Wraith since he's a bit blurry when invisible
-You don't hear a heartbeat when he's invisible
-Try to keep track of him being invisible or not
-Most of the time you can hear his bell ring
-Hearing a bell doesn't mean he's invisible, you need to hear it ring 4 times to know that he's invisble, experienced Wraiths tend to ring it once to confuse survivors
-You can hear The Wraith when he's invisible
-He's very slow when he becomes visible again
-Wraiths tend to camp hooks by hanging a teammate up and then going invisible and standing somewhere, try and watch out for a blurry shape
-You don't always hear the bell when he goes invisible, however, you DO hear the wind whispering

(If you have any more tips for surviving the wraith, comment them down below!)

Tips For Surviving The Hillbilly
-The Hillbilly tends to patrol generators, as I said, don't run when you hear a heartbeat and chainsaw since he rarely focuses then
-Don't run in a straight line since he will use his chainsaw sprint to one shot you
-When you do run in a straight line and he is spinning his chainsaw up, try and dodge it by making sharp turns
-When a generator explodes, I suggest you DO immediately hide because he'll be there in a matter of seconds

(If you have any more tips for surviving the hillbilly, comment them down below!)

Tips For Surviving The Nurse
-The Nurse is one of the best at tracking, don't try to run too much. When you hear a heartbeat, stop running!
-Don't try and do something she expects, like dropping a pallet. She'll blink right through it and get a hit off you.
-Don't go in the open too much, and don't try to run too much.
-When you hear her charging up her blink, make immediate u-turns around an object. She will likely overshoot it and miss you
-Run towards the nurse when she's charging up her blink, she can't stop it then!

(If you have any more tips for surviving the nurse, comment them down below!)

Tips For Surviving The Shape (Michael Myers)
-Watch your back! When he doesn't have Evil Within 2 yet he doesn't have a terror radius!
-When he has Evil Within 3, HIDE!
-If he stalks you, RUN OUT OF HIS SIGHT, then stop running and hide somewhere.
-If you're his obsession I suggest you hide since most newer Shapes think that the obsession should be killed first.

(If you have more tips for surviving the shape, comment them down below!)

Tips For Surviving The Hag
-Do not run away or panic when you trigger a trap, you will get scared though but do NOT panic!
-Hags can't always reach their traps to teleport to them.
-Hags tend to place a trap, or even multiple at a hooked survivor. Don't panic, save the survivor.
-They also tend to do the same with generators, don't run away but walk away and hide.
-When she does come to the generator, wait for her to leave and continue working, unless she placed a new trap.
- You can disable hag traps with your flashlights
-Forums told me that the flashlight trick is random
- Crouching won't trigger the traps either
-Traps start to glow after a while
(If you have any more tips for surviving the hag, comment them down below!)

dont smash the spacebar wildly
do it in a fast succession

doing it wildly, the click will not register and get you killed instead

Most people don't have this common sense at the lower ranks.

No problem, I'll think about adding doc, huntress and leatherface soon. Been focusing on killer these days.

Thanks a lot for that Hag part. She raped me hard in the last match I had against her. I didn't know I could use the flashlight that way or just crouch.

I was thinking about it yeah, but I'm not really good against the doc yet. I updated it for the new Hag though.

Are you going to update this guide for Doctor and the huntress?

I reccomend if you Run, make sure you have lightweight 3, otherwise, yeah, don't run.

I run everywhere, and I win about 80% of my gamez
