Known Issues [support.activision.com]
Possible Fixes
1. GPU Drivers
One general thing to do when having game performance issues, is to update your GPU drivers to the lastest available. Sometimes the newest can even give even worse affect than before, there for rolling back can also be key to fixing performance. For Nvidia, 373.06 is working great on both IW and MWR; been using since launch and no issues. Try going through & downloading driver after driver till the one fits your needs.

Download Nvidia Drivers[www.nvidia.com]
Download AMD Drivers[support.amd.com]

2. Performing Clean Boot
If MWR isn't launching, black screen, random crashes (or any issues what so ever) then you will want to perform a clean boot. Sometimes doing it a second or third time just to confirm you did it right the first time is always recommended.

3. Verifying Game Cache
Experiencing more random crashes, errors when launching, etc. Try verifying the game cache.

4. Third-Party Anti-Virus Programs
A main issue with today's games is that other software(s) can conflict with it. There for causing the game not to function properly. Search your computer to make sure no Anti-Virus programs are active while playing (may even uninstall to test).

5. Disk Read Error / update patch_common_mp
Reinstall Singleplayer, then verify the game cache.

6. Update Requires Restart
One possible fix I see around is locating these two files in your MWR folder. As always, make a copy first to somewhere safe, then delete them. Launch MWR and see if issue is resolved.

toc0.dcache

toc1.dcache

7. Restoring Settings to Default
Locate your MWR folder and find the players folder. (steamapps > common > MWR > players). Make a copy to your desktop (somewhere safe for backup) and then delete that folder from your MWR folder. Launch MWR and allow the settings to re-apply.

8. VAC Banned Error
No, you weren't VAC banned (more or less) cause there is no VAC for this game yet. This is a common error and no real fix for it yet. Only possible thing that seems to fix it, is to change your Steam Name / URL.

9. CPU Running @ 100%
Check your power management settings. Try switching between them to see if any good result comes out of it. Also check to make sure your motherboard apps (or any computer hardware apps) didn't create their own form of 'power management'.

10. Low FPS On Nvidia GPUs
Step 1: Go to Nvidia Control Panel and add Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Step 2: Set to adaptive Vsync and turn on triple buffering
Step 3: Set maximum prerendered frames to the option "1"
Step 4: Turn ON threaded optimization

11. CPU With 2 Cores
For some users, you will not be able to play IW / MWR very well with a 2 Core CPU. Most of you rather get freezing or crashing. It is possible for some (tested on an old laptop and runs fine) but as I said, for most it just won't work. Please just send Infinity Ward your tweets (even ATVI Assist) so that they can address it within a patch update.

12. Reinstalling Redistributables
Recommended by a forum user, GhostMotley, try reinstalling the redistributables as detailed below.

Step 1 Locate where MWR is installed and open the '_CommonRedist' folder, located in

\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered\_CommonRedist

Step 2 From here, open the DirectX folder and within the Jun2010 folder run

DXSETUP

Step 3 Then, go back to the '_CommonRedist' folder and open vcredist folder, within the 2015 folder, run both

vc_redist.x64

and

vc_redist.x86

13. Reinstalling OS & Game
Worst come to worst, you attempt to reinstall MWR and if that doesn't work....there is always the reinstall of the intire OS. Can't promise it'll fix anything, but it is worth a shot.

In-Game Tweaks
1. Can't Change Native Resolution
In Advanced Video, you'll see "Native Render Resolution". Select that to "No" to remove the lock sign over the render resolution.

2. Disable Anti-Aliasing
AA isn't worth the extra stress on your hardware

3. Fill Remaining Memory
This one all depends on the user's GPU. For me, I have 8GB of VRAM and it doesn't really do a huge difference with it on or off. But it may or may not improve your performance.

4. Making Colors More Rich
Change your brightness to the following.

5. Sync Ever Frame
Enabling Sync-Every-Frame may reduce your frame rate and not only that, add a weird laggy / choppy feel. Try testing with it on / off.

6. Shadows
For the best performance, disable Shadows

Ending Notes
Sadly, if you're still experiencing issues after attemping these fixes, I honestly don't know what else to recommend. If you have possible fixes that aren't listed above (but it helped you) feel free to comment down below so that we can look into getting it in the guide. Stay Frosty!

If your game is crashing because it cant load certain textures (especially on bog), go to the advanced video settings and turn off all preloading shaders settings. Both setting should be off.

Bom dia. O meu jogo simplesmente trava na missão "O Lamaçal". Ele carrega a missão e na hora de rodar, trava. Já tentei de tudo. O que eu posso fazer?

My multiplayer refuses to work. when I open it is says it needs to download a shader cache but it either crashes at 16% or 0%. It gives me a 'Fatal Error' that reads "Create2DTexture ( viewmodel_h1_usmc_ghillie_nml, 512, 256, 0 84 ) failed: 887a0005 = The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action."

Any ideas on how to fix this or can I get my money back for buying a broken game?

my game would randomly crashed right before missions started. i tried everything and the only thing that worked for me was turning off 'shader preload'. that fixed it and ive had no other issues since. the game still looks exactly the same and runs just as smoothly.

There's a common issue with COD MW2 Remastered freezing on the loading screen right before the mission starts.

You need to turn off "shader preload" in advanced video settings. Nothing else worked for me, this was the one thing that stopped the fun for me and switching from On to Off on this option was the magic trick fix. Now I'm back at it.

The first fix option is to just keep downloading and installing drivers til you find one that works...??? wtf?!?
