Enabling Console Witcher 3 NO MODS GOTY

In this guide I will show you how to enable the Witcher 3 console mod, quickly and efficiently without the need of a mod. This works for 1.31 Game of the Year version, it is untested with other versions.

Enabling Console **Does not disable achievements**
Enabling the console is quick and easy by following the steps outlined below:
  1. Navigate to your game folder located under :
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\config\base


  2. Make a copy the general.ini file.
      > I strongly suggest you follow this step. This is just to ensure that a backup is available if a mistake is made and you have to roll back.

  3. Open your original general.ini file with a text editor. For this example I am using Notepad ++

  4. Locate the line right below:
    ConfigVersion=2


    and paste this right below:

    DBGConsoleOn=true

  5. Save the file by pressing CTRL+S

  6. Now the console will be enabled.

  7. To access the console menu press the tilde "~" button in-game.

    **Edit** Some users are reporting that the 'ö', '@', '§', 'ø' ,' ¨ ' symbol. If you are using a french AZERTY keyboard, you might need to press the ' ² ' or ' ù ' key. Original information is based on Standard English Keyboard.

I heard that there is a developer console that can be only accessed by changing the game files, but because I have GFN I can't open the local files, but I can set launch options. So if anybody knows please tell me, add me, contact me. Thank you.

for those of you that cant get it working try stating a new line after typing DBGConsoleOn=true then save

it works for 5 min in game then the console command just stops working and all items i want to add doesnt add

on swedish its ö, i think it should be the same on finnish
