Werewolves of Skyrim (a Skyrim Encounters and Themes mod)

This mod adds werewolves and boss werewolves as random wilderness encounters. Wherever there's a chance to meet a troll or frost troll, there's now also a chance to meet a leveled werewolf or werewolf boss. You can even take werewolf heads as trophies from those you kill!

The mod also gives you an increasing chance to meet a larger number and variety of wolves, including timber wolves, which have amber-color pelts and aren't encountered in the vanilla game. As you level up, the wolf packs that attack will have up to three times the number of wolves, making them a challenge worthy of a hero like yourself. As an added bonus, there's even a chance to meet wolf packs led by werewolves! (See Percent Chance for Encounters, below.)

This mod is completely compatible with all of the DLCs, but it also works without them.

The mod is completely safe. No changes are permanent. Disable it at any time and the your wilderness encounters return to normal. (PLEASE NOTE: Disabling or unsubscribing will remove from the game the werewolf head tophies and timber wolf pelts you have collected. Wolves and werewolves that have already spawned will remain.)

Leveled werewolves are added to the lists of random predator encounters. Many places where you can encounter a bear, sabre cat or troll, you'll have about an equal chance of encountering a leveled werewolf. These include encounters in snowless forests and marshes.

Leveled boss werewolves (which deal more damage and have more health than normal werewolves) are added to the lists of random predator encounters in colder climates. Many places where you can encounter a snow bear, snowy sabre cat or frost troll, you'll have about an equal chance of encountering a leveled boss werewolf. These include encounters in snowy forests, on snowy plains and on snow-covered mountains.

The severed werewolf heads are unique to this mod and not found anywhere in the game or on any other workshop. One is added to the death items for each werewolf and boss werewolf. Loot them from dead werewolves or werewolves you kill. Collect them as trophies to brag about how many you've killed, sell them to merchants for a profit, or give them as gifts!

These are the same wolves used for the flaming familiars, but they're not ghost-like or onfire. They look like common wolves, but their fur is brilliant amber, instead of black.

All-new amber-colored pelts are added to the death items for each Timber Wolf you kill.

Each wolf encountered in the game has a chance to spawn one to three more wolves. The percent chance to spawn more, and the number spawned is determined by the level of your player character.

Each wolf can spawn different kinds of wolves, making them more like wolf packs found in real life. So packs you encounter can be made up of common wolves, timber wolves and ice wolves.

Each wolf also has a chance to spawn a werewolf, which will lead the pack that attacks you! The percent chance to encounter werewolf pack leaders increases as your player character levels up.

To make sure this mod loads, after subscribing, launch Skyrim, wait for the launch screen to display a message that all mods finished synchronizing, then exit Skyrim to the desktop. Relaunch Skyrim. The mod should now be loaded.


There are no known bugs. Please report any you think you find. Mods changing werewolves or the leveled lists that spawn animals and creatures in the wilderness might be incompatible.


There's no need to unsubscribe. After subscribing, you may easily disable the mod at anytime:

1. Start the Skyrim launcher
   
2. Wait for it to display a message that mods finished synchronizing
   
3. Select Data Files
   
4. Remove the checkmark next to this mod
   
5. Select OK and Play
