Moonbase Luna-C 01: Intro to Lunar Gravity

Leírás
Somewhere in the Multiverse, in another Aperture not too different from ours, an intern working on the Conversion Gel project had a stroke of inspiration: if moon rock is such a great portal conductor, why not open a portal on the Moon and get it ourselves instead of buying it at exorbitant prices?

Twenty years later, the name of that intern is lost to history along with every other brave but stupid soul who tried opening such a portal without pressurizing the room first. But his legacy lives on in Aperture Laboratories Annex Luna-C, a vast network of Lunar mining facilities and chambers for low-gravity testing. What happened to A and B? Science happened. Now Aperture is completely focused on Luna-C.

If you're reading this, it means you have been selected for mandatory inclusion in the Aperture Science Volunteer Employee Gravity Liberation Testing Program. Congratulations! Feeling overweight? You won't on the Moon, where gravity is one-sixth of Earth's.

While a basic familiarity with (and survival of) Aperture Science test chambers is helpful, test subjects should be aware that moving and testing in Lunar gravity requires a very different approach. You will find that you can jump higher and farther, but building momentum--or shedding it--is more difficult.

The following simple tutorial chamber will acquaint you with the basics of jumping and moving in Lunar gravity with a sequence of elementary cube-and-button-based testing. Completion of this mandatory test is strongly encouraged before proceeding into the standard testing track.

More Luna-C maps to come!

Revision 2:
- SIGNIFICANTLY revamped the physics model to improve the low-gravity experience. It should now be much smoother and more playable. If any of you were frustrated by the jumping and mantling in the first version, please give this a try!
- Added a discouragement beam that the player must hop over to teach them about their new jump distance, and integrated it and its catcher into the first puzzle.
- Tweaked the geometry of both rooms to account for the new physics model and make them a little more interesting.
Revision 3:
- Significantly optimized visleaves. Most of you will never know or care what I mean by this. :)
- Fixed HDR sunlight.
- New custom signage and other minor changes to improve playability.
Revision 3:
- AIR CONTROL! I've re-enabled the ability of the player to control their movement in the air. After extensive testing, I don't think it'll break any of the puzzles.
- Minor architectural change to encourage players to look out the window.
- A few geometry fixes.

UPDATE:

Thank you for all of the comments, favorites and subs, everyone! I'm glad so many of you enjoy this concept and are looking forward to seeing where I go with it. When you're ready to move on, you can now find Luna-C test chamber 02 here:

"I'm in space!" Thanks, Catsy, that's great work. I'm totally devouring the whole collection right now!

I didn't see the white walls on the boxy thing on the puzzle, so as usual I thought it was more advanced then it was. when I finally saw it, it was very easy. I need to get better at observing my environment and not assumed things are super tricky.
