How to:
Recent updates to the Steam builds of ADOM Deluxe changed some default settings as to how the game plays the tile mode animations when moving your character. I believe these changes were made to improve game performance in NotEye tiles mode, but as a result there is now a slight (but to me very noticeable) 'jerkiness' when you move.

After some digging around in various options I found out of to revert those changes, if you'd like the old and smoother animation style back.

  • Open NotEye's settings with shortcut 'ctrl+m'
  • Animations, scrolling and palette options with shortcut 'o'
  • Animations while pressing keys quickly, shortcut 'q'
  • Set new value to 0, aka careless mode.

If you wish to experiment you can use values from 0 to 100, and 5 or 10 was the new default setting if for some reason you wish to revert.

But there you go lads an lassies, enjoy smooth movement animation again!

I am not only famous for my appetite for giant's toes on TES: Skyrim, but I also enjoy nomming on thumbs. If this guide made your life better I would appreciate yours!

This works amazingly well. In fact, it's almost a little /too/ fast. :)
