Thanks to people like you, we can still find work-a-rounds to play older games.
Your help is appreciated.
Thanks for the guide.
It took me hours to get it to work until I found your guide, which is very well written.
If anyone is still having issues, I followed their instructions exactly to get an Xbox One controller to work. Below are some extra tips if you can't get it to work:
* Use the older version of Xbox360 CE (the one found at speedrun.com - it is mentioned in the below comments);
* download DS4 and InputMapper (this worked for me, but you may not need them);
* start Dead Rising 2 with Xbox360 CE minimised, and your controller on; and
* go into the Dead Rising 2 options, find the gamepad/controller options, and enable it.
I kept missing the enable/disable option within Dead Rising 2 (the options at the title screen), which was stopping the controller from working. When you load Dead Rising 2, you'll hear a 'ding', which means it's working.
My instructions may not work for everyone, but following NomNom's instructions does work. :)
So he either didn't follow the instructions, or he was dumb enough to not go into the game's settings and enable the controller support now that the new ini was created from the method in the speedrun website.
