Intro
There are many complaints about the game not launching or crashing at launch/startup. There are few fixes and workarounds that might help you. You will not be punished or banned for doing this. These work with cracked and steam versions. If nothing helps, my dearest apologies, our best option is to wait till the developers fix the problem themselves because mostly it's on their side.

Be sure to click the "Rate up" button since it takes you less than a
second, but it took me some time to complete this project!
Updating Your Game
This is very obvious but please make sure you are trying to launch the newest version of the game. No Man's Sky developers are fully aware of problems people are encountering and are trying to fix them. Be patient.

If this doesn't fix your problem please check out other provided solutions below!
Updating Visual C++ Redist
Some players don't have it installed/updated, all you have to do is download and install "Visual C++ Redist 2010", the download page can be found on microsoft's download[www.microsoft.com] page.

Workaround SSE 4.1
Older CPUs, mostly AMD ones, do not support SSE 4.1 CPU instructions, but they are required for the game, this was tested by a Reddit user via emulation. An experimental build has been created for the game (might be unstable) in steam. Follow these steps for a possible fix.
  • The first step is to navigate to the game in the Library menu, right click on No Man's Sky and click properties.

  • The second step is to click on Beta tab.

  • The third step is to enter: 3xperimental in a field that says "Enter beta access code to unlock private betas".

  • The fourth step is to click on the "Experimental" field in your "Select the beta you would like to op into" dropdown.

  • The fifth step is to start the game as usual.

Another way to deal with this issue (may work with steam as well as cracked/pirated versions) is to download custom files, place them in games directory and launch the game from a different launcher. Follow these easy steps.
  • The first step is to download a zip file that provides all necessary files. If the download link is down or not working, please
inform me in the comment section below.

  • The second step is to extract the zip file. A program like WinRAR or
    7-Zip
    is necessary.

  • The third step is to move these extracted files (4 folders and 5 files) to your No Mans Sky\Binaries folder.

  • The fifth step is to temporary disable your anti-virus protection, or
else the CMD window that should open will close immediately.

  • The sixth step is to to launch the game by double-clicking
the "start-old-cpu" file. A black CMD window will open, do not close it. Wait till the game launches itself.

If the game crashes on startup anyway, please open the file again, most
often it works if launched again. If the game doesn't work, please check if you've done everything correctly and that your folder contains all the files that are highlighted in the picture on the right.
For never versions of the game the Binaries folder might look a bit different.

Workaround OpenGL 4.5
You should always check if the latest graphics drivers for your video card are installed on your computer, if they are not updated, this might be the right time and reason to update them. You can check for updates in your video cards driver that's installed on your pc currently ("Catalyst Control Panel" or "NVIDIA GeForce Experience" drivers tab).

Using Borderless Window Or Native Resolution
Using a Borderless Window rather than Full Screen helps resolve many crashes and stutter problems. Full Screen mode appears to be bugged for now.

Using your monitor's native resolution[www.whatismyscreenresolution.com] has supposedly helped some people with crashing. Using any other resolution can cause problems.
End Conclusion
I hope that you enjoyed and understood everything. Link to the "SSE 4.1" fix contains no viruses and was uploaded (not made) by me, i tested it and it does work.
