Inventory Basics
In No Man´s Sky the Inventory is a limited and essential part of the game. The inventory is used to hold materials, trading commodities, crafted objects, technology, medical aids, and many other things. Theres 3 types of inventories, the Exosuit inventory, the Starship inventory, and the Multi-tool inventory. You can transfer objects from your Exosuit inventory to your Starship inventory and vice versa.

  • Exosuit Inventory

It holds all the objects you mine through your tool gun, it also holds technology that is relevant to your Exosuit for example the temperature control in your suit, shields, movement, upgrades, etc. You begin with 12 slots.

  • Starship Inventory

As the title says the Starship inventory holds all the materials you obtain through your Starship, it also contains Armour, weapons, upgrades, and movement utilities. The inventory slots depend on the Starship you have. The first Starship has 15 slots, and the Starship that comes with the dlc has16 slots. Unfortunately the only way to expand this inventory is by obtaining a new starship.

  • Multi-Tool Inventory

The Multi-Tool inventory contains only technology and technology upgrades, for example: Laser ammunition, fighting rounds, grenades, scanners and upgrades. Again this also depends on which weapon you obtain throughout the game. The first Multi-Tool has 5 slots.
Expanding Exosuit Inventory
Expanding Exosuit Inventory can be frustrating since it costs units (game currency) and it takes time to find upgrade. There is two ways to expand your Exosuit inventory.

  • Exploring

You can find Exosuit upgrade capsules all around the planets.
The cost of the expansion will increase everytime you upgrade your inventory.

  • Atlas Passes

An atlas pass is a crafted object that opens doors and loot at space stations, bases and other facilities. You need to first learn how to make the atlas pass. You can find the blueprints at a space anomaly.
In the space station you are eable to open a door with your atlas pass, this door leads to a VIP lounge that has Exosuits upgrades and sometimes techonlogy blueprints.
Expanding Multi-Tool inventory
Expanding Multi-Tool inventory costs units depending on the slots and the upgrades it comes with. You can purchase different Multi-Tools in bases around the planets and at a space anomaly.
Expanding Starship Inventory
There isnt any way to expand a Starship´s inventory. Buying or finding a new starship with more slots is a posibility.

  • Buying Starships

Starships can be bought in space stations, you just need to speak with a Starship pilot. This is recommended if you have a great number of units since the price range of a starship is between 300,000u(13 slots)-50,000,000u(48 slots).
Starships can hold twice as much minerals than your Exosuit Inventory

  • Finding Starships

You can find crashed Starships in different planets. Finding crashed Starships usualy takes from 10-20 minutes in each planet. When you locate a crash site, you need to fully repair the vehicle for it to be yours, i would recommend this if you find a Starship with a big amount of inventory slots and good upgrades.

Conclusion
Thank you for reading this guide, i hope it helps you reach the centre of the universe.

Thank you and happy gaming

Might want to change your buying ships amounts, can cost anywhere from 300,00u for a 13 slot ship (why you'd wanna buy a 13 slotter, nfi lol) to 50,000,000 u for a full 48 slotter (48 slots being the max for both your suit and ship) also might want to mention how a single slot in your ship can hold twice as many minerals as your exosuit slots. makes it handy if you need to free up space

Isn't it annoying to anyone else that when your inventory in your starship/exosuit, once you are unlocking inventory in the bottom row, the opaque letterbox partially blocks stacks in your inventory?
