For this step, all you need to do is to find the slice(s) of bread that you want to turn into toast. Once you have located the bread, keep it nearby to the toaster for easy access.

In this step, we will attempt to get the bread out of the bag. This is a step that I normally struggle with, as it requires some intricate motor skills that I do not have. In order to open the bread bag, you need to remove the tag that is holding it shut, and rotate the bag so that you can remove a slice from the bag. Once this has been completed, you need to reverse the process, by rotating the bag the other direction whilst hold the top of the open end, and then put the tag back so that it will remain shut.

In order for the toaster to function optimally, it needs to be plugged in and have a supply of power. In order to do this, retrieve the toaster from where ever it is stored, and place it on a bench or other flat surface that is within the proximity of a suitable power socket. Plug the power cord into the socket, and make sure that the socket is switched on.

In this step, you need to insert the slice(s) of bread into the slots of the toaster. Each slice of bread should have its own slot, so that each slice is properly cooked.

Before starting this step, you need to consider what texture you would like your toast to be. For crisper, harder toast, select the highest setting on the dial on the side of the toaster. Some types of bread need to be cooked longer than others, but that is a guide that I may make in the future, as it is a very extensive topic with lots of schools of thought. Once you have selected the texture you would like, simply push down the lever located on the front or the side of the toaster

The bread needs time to cook before it can be considered toast (Exactly how much time is another very lengthy topic which I do not have time to discuss here), and so at this stage all you can do is wait for it to be finished.

DO NOT USE A FORK OR OTHER METAL UTENSIL
In this step, you need to remove the toast from the toaster. This step is best done quickly (Within 5 minutes) so that the toast does not cool off. The technique that I usually use is to push up the lever so that the toast is pushed up, and then grab the top of the bread with my other hand and put it on a plate.
