5 things we wish we knew about the SKIES (and other useful facts)
Di Aeon e altri 1 collaboratori
We've all been there: started a game, gotten halfway through it, and found out something so simple that we really wish we had known from the beginning. Team Kairos is bringing you a list so that you can avoid the mistakes of these two girls, bumbling about in the wastelands of the SKIES.

Introduction
So, we've all been there.

Yes we have. Don't deny it. We've all played part way through the game and came upon something small or big, that would've made our previous x hours playing so much easier. Maybe it is a way to reset your abilities and skills from a NPC tucked in a corner. Or it's just that you can load a transportation up to grab more things, so you can stick your stuff into a big chest in the basement and then none of those things will ever see the light of day.

The SKIES is currently still in development, so the girls had to absolutely learn the hard way. Take the easier way out and find out what the Five Things we all wish we knew from the get-go!
Video list of the 5 things

There are a few times in the video where it may get a tad loud. We're sorry in advance, but it's the first time we've been able to do a video together. :)
Other things we learned the hard way
Not done yet! Here are a few more small things that could've helped us when we started our gameplay:
  • Press "L" to dance! Yes, that's rather important in a survival situation.
  • Press "N" to switch between left and right shoulder. In case you have difficulty seeing from one side.
  • Press "~" (next to the 1 and above Tab), then type in "-suicide" without the quotes to instantly kill yourself. Get you out of the harm's way by brutally dying! (Helpful for when you're trapped in a building you can't get out of).
  • Can't stand third person's view? Press "V" to toggle between third person and first person view!
  • When logging in, press "J", then switch to daily quests. Accept them all, even if you don't think you can do them. It'd surprise you what you actually finish in an hour or two.
Bugs to watch out for
So, we've all had our share of bugs. The "No Saving Your Progress" bug. The "negative crafting timer" bug. Here's a short list of things to NOT do in order to not run into crashes.
  • Don't drag things directly between Warehouse and Inventory. We've run into a few bugs when we've dragged an item that's in both the Warehouse and Inventory. It runs into an error, which then refuses to save any further progress. Help yourself by dragging the item out of the Warehouse, placing it into your Inventory, and then placing it back in. It's a bit more work, but better than not saving hours of work.
  • There's a rather annoying bug in the sewers, where your gun appears invisible and refuses to work. Exiting the Sewers and re-entering sometimes solves it.
  • If there's someone next to you, harvesting commodity nodes, avoid trying to harvest the same things. If he finishes before you, you'll actually freeze in place, unable to do anything. Only way to re-enter (albeit maybe losing some progress) is by restarting your game. (ALT-F4 works in this instance).
Let us know how we did!
Please feel free to leave us a comment, and let us know if there are things we're missing. This is a brief guide on a few things that aren't mentioned clearly in game, and that may help out new players. Thank you!

It's common knowledge that you read the manual, go through the tutorial, and check out each and every option in the game prior to throwing yourself out there. I knew about this stuff from day 1. But still very well done and very informative just the same ladies!!:steamhappy:

Not able to join any server. It merely says "Exception Authorize" ( which has -leading and is all jammed together). All servers say this. The button does nothing on first click and says this on second click.

Dead Man manuals can be bought from vendors...but prices for good items are pretty high....or go to bar and use Auction.

@TheLordOfStrings, thank you! I originally thought what "affects production level" was increasing the speed of things crafting-wise, but yes. Every 20 mastery, you gain one more slot.
