The Caucasus

Kuvaus
This is a challenging map to play on, based on the Caucasus region. The map encompasses Northeastern Turkey, Northern Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and parts of Southern Russia. Take charge of the oil surrounding the Absheron Peninsula, try to link Yerevan with Tbilisi, or transform the Black Sea coast into a thriving tourist resort!

Note that I did not create the map using heightmaps. I have taken some artistic license in shaping the geography, which means the map actually has quite a bit of playable area.

I highly recommend using the 81 Tiles Mod for this map as both the Black Sea coast and the Caspian Sea coast are outside of the regular (25) tiles. You can play the mod without, but you'll be landlocked. I also recommend to use the Realistic European theme. Road Anarchy will be very useful in this mountainous landscape.

I really like this mod. It works so well. It feels so different from the flat, tightly forested, river-based maps the rest of the game is mainly comprised off, and seems more challenging. Good work!
One question, though: not a massive thing or anything, don't worry. Just... where would you say the first tile technically is? I just felt like I should name my districts after places around there in real life, so was wondering where I should be looking to start, just to give me some bearings on the rest of it. My original guess was Ashty, southern Russia, but looking again that seems way off. Do we start in Azerbaijan?

I think the outside connections were made using roads from the Network Extensions 2 mod. I cannot update these at the moment, but it should work with that mod installed.
