The most common types of kids will be earlier in the guide, and rare types will be later... Also, not all kids yell and scream and beg over the mic. Actually, there are kids who are more mature than some ADULTS! So, lets get to it!

These kids mis-use the mic... They yell into the mic and (try to) command their team to do something, or something along those lines. Here is a quote from a child in particular that I heard in my career of TF2:
"OH MY GOD! (someone) MOVE YOUR SENTRY!!!!! I WANT MY SENTRY THERE!!!!!" (someone else: "but i had it here first") "NO!!!! I WANT IT NOW!!!!"

They mostly use the mic every time they want to say something, and when they say something, it usually isnt nice, but also, this goes into the NEXT trypes of children...

Oooooh, we ALL saw this coming from a MILE away, havent we?

99/100 chance, they try to say all of the swear words they can think of, without actually knowing what some of them mean... Think of them as bullies at the school that you go to, or went to...
There ARE some obvious differences, but here are some facts:

These 12 year olds say some of the NASTIEST stuff on the internet, and they probably dont even know half of the stuff they are saying... Also, unlike bullies irl, they cant harm you, so they try to SOUND tough, and... "cool"...? If you come across one of these kids, or spoiled lil' brats, just mute them, you can mute them by going to the menu (Press ESC) and click on the mute button thats
right on the RESUME GAME button!

HERES A BIG NOTE: If you are 12, but you dont do these stuff, that is entirely ok! And for the people who think all 12 year olds were cancerous, think again!

Not all 12 year olds are bad! Yes, an unassuring amount of 12 year olds use their mic and do the stuff above, but I have met some 12 year olds who are, actually really cool! They don't sware constantly, they have a funny sence of humor, and are GOOD at games! :O OMIGOD KIDS GOOD AT GAMES GET OUT!!!! (jk)

Okay, this type will have 2 sub types:

These children are just trying to play the game, and sometimes, uses the mic, but not too much. They do not know that they have a bad mic, and can't tell... They are usually confused when someone tells them to "SHUT UP!!!!" out of nowhere... Imagine you being a, lets say, a 10 year old! You just got TF2 and you are so happy! You start up a game, but you are not sure about the controls. You ask your team nicely, "Excuse me, how do you switch your weapons?" And someone randomly yells at you to SHUT UP!!!!!!!! In your mind, all you did was ask an innocent question, but to everyone else, when you use the mic, their ears bleed!!! This can happen to people who arent children too, but since we are basically focusing on children, we will take about them... Jesus i have mentioned children alot, I hope im not on some watch-list... Eeeh...

And now we have the more toxic ones:
When we hear this: ^^^ We think about Spoiled BRATS that we talked about earlier... They have similarities, but its worse... You dont have to hear them yelling, you have to hear them yelling AND deal with the HORRIBLE MIC QUALITY!!!!

Anyways, rule of thumb, it doesnt matter WHAT age you are, always check your mic quality... Heres some ways to do so:
If you have a way of recording your voice on the computer, do so, and take a listen!
Ask some of your CLOSE friends, and ask them!

Hell, you dont need to even BUY a mic to get a good quality! I use my mic built into my laptop, and it works and sounds just fine! . . . I hope...

Believe it or not, I can almost GARUNTEE (I'm too lazy to check the spelling) that there is at least 1 Kid on ANY server with more than 10 people that you dont know! You dont notice it, because they dont use their mic! Some kids know about these things that im talking about, and they take that into consideration... They are trying to do everyone a favor, and just play the game without major distractions... Thing is, some of them dont even know what they sound like with a mic, so they dont even know if they are an annoyance or not!

MATURE CHILDREN are kind of hard to come by in a game like TF2. But There ARE some out there (Im not afraid to admit, that i can say that I am one, yes I'm a child, sue me...) Anyways, You can't CONTROL how old you are! People HATE children JUST because of their age! Granted, TF2 is considered Rated M (last time I checked), but they know what to do and what not to do in real life, like to NOT bring a knife to school and pretend to be a spy...

Back on topic: Mature Children DO use their mic sometimes, but when they do, they checked their Mic Quality, and they DO NOT OVERUSE THE MIC!!!!! They only use the mic only when
*They Need to say something that will benifit the team
* When they want to say something REALLY QUICK, but cant use Text Chat
* etc

Mature does not mean that they are boring... Mature means that they can tell right from wrong. They know when to stop talking. But, that brings me to a sub-type:


These guys are similar to Mature Children, but one of the differences, is that they use the mic a lot more! Sometimes, they use it a little bit TOO MUCH! They can't tell when they need to stop talking...

Heres a giant note:
Do not judge someone by age... Children have a bad rep because SOME of them are ANNOYING AS HELL!!! Anyways, not all kids are bad, just, when ONE kid is, its a GIANT show!
Kids who behave, dont really get a ton of attention...

Anyways, dont judge kids, because they are kids!
