I’ll make this snappy. You’ll need to press esc while walking. If you continue to click anywhere then your character should be able to walk around while the enemies will be completely immobile. Although the menu will hamper your ability to see, with your mini-map up you should be able to navigate anywhere in the room unhampered by those pesky enemies.
