Want to backup your save?

Disclaimer
I take NO responsibility for damaging your game or ruining your save files, as some people are having issues with the saves after release, even though it's quite easy to do.
How to do it
First you make your way to where you installed Steam
" C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam " By default.

Now go into the Userdata folder inside Steam.

Inside "userdata" folder you'll find a lot of folders named by numbers, You'll have to search for this number : > 262060 < which refers to Darkest Dungeon.

After you've found that folder inside you'll find your saves

Now just copy these else where and you're good to go!

@Darviathar Yeah, 3 isn't enough in my opinion as well, I also deleted some saves :yawning_creep:

I wish I'd known this last year. I've had to delete several games, simply because I wanted to start a new one. 3 slots just isn't enough.

Sorry for the late reply, Yes you can do that BUT I'd advise against it as it ruins one of the game's aspects, but it's how you want to play after all :)

Indeed... though, I must say that some of the Achievements would be nightmarish, bordering on impossible, to obtain WITHOUT using a trick like this.

you can telgalad, but I would recommend against it as it pretty much ruins a main mechanic of the game.

Can you do this before doing a dangerious dungeon? So that if you lose a character you can just load the old save?
