Revolver Overview

The R8 Revolver delivers a highly accurate and powerful round at the expense of a lengthy trigger-pull. When emergency point-blank stopping power is required, fanning the hammer boosts rate-of-fire, but eliminates precision.

The R8 Revolver is the third pistol to be introduced to Global Offensive since the game's retail release. It can be switched out for the Desert Eagle in-game. The Revolver is capable of firing 8 rounds via two separate attacks with only 8 rounds in reserve. The primary attack draws the hammer back before firing. As the hammer is drawn back, the accuracy of the revolver increases, movement speed drops to 180 units per second and then the gun fires after a 0.42 second delay. The secondary attack is a quick shot using the fanning technique, resulting in a much faster but less accurate shot.

In comparison to the Desert Eagle, this weapon deals more damage and is capable to kill a player at close range in one hit, primary fire is more accurate and can fire one shot more before reloading. On the downside, primary fire is much slower, require to pull the hammer before able to fire a shot and the movement is lowered to 180 (220 when not firing which is still slower than the Deagle), has much lower ammo in reserve which forces the player to fire sparingly. The rate of fire in secondary mode is still lower than the Deagle, and the revolver costs $150 more.
Getting Started
The R8 Revolver upon purchase in-game may seem like any other pistol in the lot, but what differentiates it over the others is the unique two-way fire modes made available. This may spark questions such as, “The Glock-18 has two fire modes as well, how is this any different?” Let me tell you what’s different, unlike the Glock-18 which needs to trigger a switch between the fire modes being the Single Fire mode and the Burst Fire mode the R8 Revolver doesn’t need any special ‘switch’ between it’s fire modes and both are made available by simply tapping the left and right mouse buttons.
R8 Specifications
The R8 having a magazine capacity of 8 bullets a round, and a total of 16 on purchase makes it somewhat similar to the CZ75-Auto. But the differentiating factor between them is the power an individual bullet delivers. The R8 Revolver is capable of a 1-shot kill and deals quite some damage over a long range scenario too.

Deagle v/s R8 Revolver
Firing the R8 Revolver
The Revolver is capable of firing 8 rounds via two separate attacks with only 8 rounds in reserve. It features two fire modes, one providing a highly accurate shot, but at the expense of a lengthy trigger-pull and the other a quick 8 single shot spray which eliminates the precision provided by the trigger pull.
The Left Click Precision Shot
The Left Click of your mouse provides you with an accurate, precise shot with half a second delay due to the trigger pull. This option is considered favorable over long range scenarios and also to get that 1 lethal shot to an already damaged enemy or to those who are unaware of your position.
The Right Click Single Spray
The 2nd mode of fire the R8 boasts about is the quick 8 shot spray which declines precision and the possibilities of a frag but assures you of some serious damage. When mastered, the Revolver does provide a possible kill with a well-aimed shot to the body if in close range. The right click fire is considered as an option upon instant spotting of an enemy or upon taking damage in a face to face combat where every fraction of a second counts.
Controlling Recoil
While the left click provides it's accuracy with point-blank precision, the right click does have some de-merits of it's own.

The Quick Spray

Firing the 8 shots in succession would lead to the placement of bullets in this manner, having the first 2 shots land directly to where the crosshair is to ending it with the last few recoiled to the right.

The Delayed Spray

Firing the R8 Revolver after a second's delay leads to a pattern simliar to that of the number 5 on a die, where the first four rounds are hit to where the crosshair was placed, which later end up with shots to the four corners. This is a preffered method as chances of a hit are higher compared to that of the quick spray.
Post Nerf Updates
The Revolver has the same base Damage as the AWP at 115. It was supposed to have the same armor penetration (97.5%) but Valve yet again messed up its implementation (like the M4A1-S nerf) and it defaulted to the Deagle's value of 93.2% (meaning the Revolver was intended to do more damage than it currently does against armored players). It loses more damage with distance than the AWP though, losing 6% at 500 units compared to the AWP's 1%. It can one hit an armored player to the chest up to 560 units away. If the shot hits the stomach it will one hit kill at just about any feasible range (2350 units)

Left click firing the Revolver requires players to wait a set period of time before their shot actually fires, but the accuracy for doing so (especially when crouching) is more reliable than the AK and M4. Like the Deagle, inaccuracy from firing lingers for a long period of time so rapid firing even when crouching won't yield good results.

Accuracy when jumping is surprisingly high when right clicking. While moving reduces your accuracy quite a bit when right clicking, left click firing receives only 6.5 extra inaccuracy

. I am not Gaben everyone knows how to use it it plays just like any gun from cod every.... Extremely accurate and does insane damage. Seriously my problem is not the damage but the huge shift in metas and ways to play because of one weapon that does not fit the CS mold in the slightest.
