How to Lurk on Cobble

Things to know about lurking

Lurking's main job is to protect your team, if you weren't to do so enemy's would be able to kill your team from behind or prevent a rotate. Lurking I believe is a key part of winning hence why so many pros do it, when you lurk you protect your team's blind side from rotating CTs, in many cases this will help you win the round. The CTs will catch on to this so make sure to mix stuff up round to round. When lurking make sure you are in helping distance of your team in case they need help. Making sure you cover your team's back is key, covering useless areas is ineffective. Make sure to be very quiet while playing even though most enemy's will be caught with their knife out. Even if you are killed you still gave your team important information on an enemy's position. Most importantly when your team is having trouble pushing onto a site and need to rotate you can secure the other site then set up to blind side CTs while they rotate not knowing you were there yet. If you team wants to do a a Eco rush or full rush you should join them, lurking is not as important one these rounds. Out of all the things to do while lurking my personal favorite is to push to CT spawn knowing no one is there, then go the site and get kills on players not even looking in your direction, this works especially on cobble. I lurk most games and even though it may get boring at times but it does pay off.

Positioning for B

This section is a layout for where you can go when the rest of your team pushes to B site. In my 1,000+ hours of csgo i have noticed that when there's a B push on cobble at least 1 person will rotate through mid or A long attempting to kill your team from behind or prevent them from rotating. This shows places where you can go to lurk, make sure that if you kill someone to rotate your position keeping them guessing and giving you a vast advantage. In the picture above it has 3 positions, blue is T ramp/castle window. Note these two positions will give you an advantage if you are using refiles but is far away from you team, if your team was in trouble and needed help you would be too far to effectively help. In this area also you have a small window of opportunity to kill the person rushing mid to B, but you will still be able to give info and warn your team. The position in yellow is mid platform this position is probably the worst but is a good option for keeping the other team guessing. It can watch A long but can't watch mid unless you turn yourself towards upper tons. Red is the bottom of mid a good area for A long. When a enemy is rotating from long you will be able to hear them and even if you don't they will fall right in front of you looking the other way. You will also be able to see enemy's going mid to pick them off but if they go connector you will not see them but can easily hear them.

The next three positions are the best for B because all the areas CTs rotate from are covered and if you team is in trouble and you can within seconds get to B. These next positions also need no explaining because of how easy they are to use.
Once your team has secured site and his holding most if not all angles you should join them or rotate through mid or a long getting yourself behind the CTs and easy kills. The next picture isn't for lurking but isextremely OP to use when going to B site. Best way to do this is rush B through drop down then go out window and quickly to the CT side of connector, you will get easy 1 taps of unaware enemies if you position your crosshair correctly. [/b]

Positioning for A

Sorry to disappoint a few but on cobble if your team is going a you should go with them. B site is far better to push because it gives the Ts an advantage considering spawn and area control, the Ts have 2 places to enter. Drop the CTs can only be so many places and a nade could do the trick and with B main it's flat and open while the CTs have uneven surface making their aim harder, they the CTs on site will also get blindsided by dropdown Ts. Enough about B site, even through A usually has only 2 CTs the others from B can rotate so fast and the 2 CTs on A have a lot of places to hide and hold angles. Your team really needs all the help of an extra player pushing with them, splitting mid is the best way just make sure to use nades..

These rounds the enemies will usually not have armor or not have good weapons, all you need to do is pre-aim head level to get the job done.
